Hazbin Hotel Creators Announce Homestuck Animated Show

I’m absolutely thrilled about the phenomenal growth of the Hellaverse lately! Shows like “Hazbin Hotel” and “Helluva Boss” have been breaking records with their massive viewership. Recently at Animate Orlando, the masterminds behind this vibrant underworld dropped a bombshell – they’re working on a new project! And Although Homestuck isn’t traditionally associated with the Hellaverse, this news is definitely going to turn quite a few heads, including mine!

Vivienne Medrano, the mastermind behind Hellaverse, along with her team of animators, announced at a Florida convention that they are developing an animated pilot for the internet saga, Homestuck. This captivating story debuted in 2009 and over the years crafted an intricate narrative where teenage characters grappled with the possibility of the world’s end. Though it concluded in 2016, leaving some to believe the franchise was permanently over, Medrano and her team had different aspirations. As they are currently working on subsequent seasons for both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, there is excitement about whether Homestuck might also find a home on Amazon Prime Video. For a sneak peek of the upcoming pilot, you can view the series poster and trailer below.

Homestuck Returns

Vivienne Medrano’s YouTube channel is set to premiere a new pilot for “Hazbin Hotel” in September, though a full series has not been optioned yet. Despite this, the entire creative team, including voice actors, has been announced. Veteran voice actor Richard Horvitz will serve as voice director. Vivienne Medrano herself will be the executive producer, while Skye Henwood takes on the roles of both director and writer, Mel Shin is the Storyboard Director, Ben Jones is the Animation Director, Hone is the Art Director, and more.

The lineup for the forthcoming Homestuck series features Toby Fox as John Egbert, Cherami Leigh as Rose Lalonde, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Jade Harley, Adam McArthur as Dave Strider, and Brandon Winckler as Karkat Vantas. Given the successful trajectory of Medrano and SpindleHorse lately, it’s possible that Homestuck might eventually appear on Amazon Prime Video too, but no official announcements have been made yet. For now, enthusiasts can anticipate the series premiering its pilot episode this autumn, offering fans a fresh perspective on the Homestuck universe once more.
