Netflix is ramping up its August 2025 lineup with a sizzling hot comeback from one of the hottest shows of the summer, marking the return of a fan-favorite drama series. This streaming juggernaut has captivated audiences who love romance and drama with hits like “Virgin River” and “Sweet Magnolias”. Although these shows have yet to air their seventh and fifth seasons respectively, another show that dominated the streaming scene earlier this summer has already made a reappearance.
On Monday, Netflix made available the third season of “Sullivan’s Crossing.” Similar to seasons 1 and 2, this one contains 10 episodes, allowing viewers to watch all 30 episodes in one go. This Morgan Kohan and Chad Michael Murray-led romantic drama is adapted from a novel series by Robyn Carr, who also wrote “Virgin River,” and was developed by Roma Roth, executive producer of “Virgin River.” To date, three seasons have been broadcast on CTV in Canada and The CW in the U.S., although only the first two seasons of “Sullivan’s Crossing” were previously streamable on Netflix. The third season concluded its run on The CW on July 16th, and a fourth season has been commissioned but not yet aired.
Sullivan’s Crossing revolves around neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan (Kohan), who finds herself in legal turmoil and goes back to her small-town roots in Nova Scotia. There, she is compelled to reconcile with her long-estranged father (Gilmore Girls‘ Luke Patterson), rekindle her romance with local sweetheart Cal (Murray), and navigate the intricacies of both her past and present life. The show also features Jackson, Andrea Menard, Allan Hawco, Lynda Boyd, and Peter Outerbridge in prominent roles.
According to the Season 3 summary provided by The CW, “After confessing her feelings to Cal Jones and dealing with the consequences of Rob’s diner fire, Maggie Sullivan chooses to give up her career as a neurosurgeon to assist in managing her father, Sully Sullivan’s campground. However, swapping the thrill of the operating room for a more relaxed lifestyle at The Crossing won’t be straightforward, and Maggie will encounter numerous difficulties as she navigates her path from mind to heart.
2023 saw the debut of “Sullivan’s Crossing” on CTV, with its first season gracing The CW screens the year after. Fast forward to July 2024, and the series made its Netflix debut, swiftly gaining a massive audience. In its inaugural week alone, it racked up an impressive 3 million views and clocked a staggering 22 million hours of viewing time. This blockbuster performance earned “Sullivan’s Crossing” a place on the Netflix Top 10 TV Shows list, cementing its status as a streaming sensation. As of today, it stands at No. 7, outranking heavyweights such as “SEC Football: Any Given Saturday,” “Love Life,” and “Beyond the Bar.
Currently, you can watch all three seasons and thirty episodes of the series “Sullivan’s Crossing” on Netflix. It has been confirmed that season 4 will air on CTV and The CW at an undisclosed date next year. As of now, there is no information regarding when or if season 4 will be available for streaming on Netflix.
