Anna Delvey Responds After Her Photoshoot Rabbits Were Dumped in Park

Anna Delvey wants to make sure no one hops to any inaccurate conclusions.

The convicted fraudster, known for posing as a wealthy heiress in 2019 following her grand larceny and theft of services convictions, has responded to allegations that she abandoned rabbits from a photo shoot in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, N.Y.

On August 7th, a photoshoot was posted to Instagram featuring the 34-year-old woman. In the city of New York, she was pictured in a short blue dress and wearing an ankle monitor. She was holding two rabbits on a leash in these photos, which were taken by photographer Jasper Soloff.

Following the photo shoot, a social media user asserted that the model rabbits resembled those they’d encountered abandoned in Prospect Park, as reported by Page Six.

Anna clarified the commotion regarding the supposedly borrowed rabbits in her Instagram Story on August 11th, stating that Christian Batty, identified as her assistant by the New York Post, informed her he knew someone who could lend them bunnies for a short period and provided several rabbits.

In a later post on her Instagram story, Anna expressed shock and dismay when she found out that instead of getting the animals from a legitimate source as he had claimed, he actually bought them off Facebook Marketplace with the intention of releasing them into Prospect Park. This was something she hadn’t known about, but the thought of someone endangering innocent creatures for personal networking purposes is something that deeply troubles her.

Anna expressed her dismay, mentioning that being an animal enthusiast, she found the events extremely distressing. She clarified that she will no longer involve animals in her future photoshoots and is committed to ensuring the welfare of the rabbits, working towards their secure relocation.

She stated that she doesn’t consume meat and has no part in procuring, transporting, or sending back any animals. She firmly believes that such actions are not acceptable.

In a different discussion, the character from “Inventing Anna” mentioned that Christian Batty had been falsely claiming he would return the rabbits for several days. It seems his true intention was to dispose of them instead.

Anna additionally posted a sequence of supposed text messages, allegedly with Christian, within a group conversation involving the photographer Jasper and publicist named Kelly Cutrone.

In the texts, Jasper asked Christian if the bunnies they used were the same creatures that were abandoned, writing, “It’s better to know then [sic] to lie to us.”

Previously on Instagram as Christian, now absent, is said to have confessed in a message that he left the animals at the park. He explained that he obtained them from someone in Yonkers, NY, whom he connected with through the Facebook group NYC Bunnies, who was looking to give up their pets. As reported by Christian, he attempted to contact the owner again about handing over the animals, but they had blocked him on their account.

He allegedly wrote in the text, “I was panicking with bunnies. That’s the reason I dumped them.”

As an ardent admirer, let me express that, much like Christian, I too felt compelled to publicly apologize for a regrettable decision – the unfortunate surrender of those innocent bunnies. In a heartfelt message on Instagram Story (alas, now deleted), I confessed, “When I came to understand that these adorable rabbits had found their way into my care, fear set in.

At 19, with no background in animal care and unaware of available resources, he felt overwhelmed and made a decision he now regrets. Assuming there were already rabbits living nearby, he released them into Prospect Park, thinking it was the best course of action. However, this assumption was incorrect, and he deeply laments his choice.

Fortunately, I’m delighted to share that three of the rabbits from the recent shooting incident have found a caring home with animal rescuer Terry Chao, as reported by The Post.

TopMob News has reached out to Anna and Christian for comment, but has not heard back.

The rabbit utilized in the photoshoot by Anna and Jasper was owned by Instagram user @natflowerss. On August 11th, she shared a photo of her pet on Instagram, reassuring everyone that her rabbit named Benito was safe and well at home.

As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but jump at the opportunity when I stumbled upon Anna’s Instagram Story appealing for fluffy companions – bunnies! Unbeknownst to me, I hadn’t crossed paths with Anna or any of her circle before this magical moment. But the thought of my companion meeting fellow rabbits was simply too charming to resist!

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that as: “During the photoshoot, I wasn’t aware that these other rabbits were abandoned. Since I’m not acquainted with anyone personally, if I had known about their plight, I would have gladly shared resources and offered more than just shelter to Christian. In fact, my own rabbit was once rescued from a similar situation, which further emphasizes my desire to help others in need.

Jasper also spoke out about the situation through his lawyer Gary Adelman.

He informed Page Six on August 11 that “this photoshoot wasn’t Jasper’s,” meaning Jasper played no role in the process or outcome of the photoshoot, and he had no involvement in acquiring the bunnies or what transpired with them post-shoot.

His attorney stated that Jasper is deeply fond of animals, having cared for various creatures such as birds, cats, dogs, parakeets, iguanas, and even possessing a beloved dog named Tinkerbell, throughout his lifetime. Fortunately, the rabbits were able to find a secure refuge thanks to him.

In a post on her Instagram Stories, Anna shared that she’d given a generous donation of $1,000 to the All About Rabbit Rescue organization.
