Jesse McCartney is grateful for the Jonas Brothers‘ beautiful souls.
Following the invitation, the “Beautiful Soul” singer couldn’t resist expressing admiration for Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas after they invited him to perform on the opening night of their Jonas20: Greetings From Your Hometown tour on August 10.
Jesse shared with TopMob News exclusively that he felt incredibly thankful for being invited to perform alongside the Jonas Brothers at their opening show at MetLife Stadium. It was a heartwarming gesture from them to recognize him as the first artist to tour with them back in 2005 (Beautiful Soul tour), and it was deeply emotional for him to reconnect with them, feeling like long-lost brothers once more.
He went on to express that he felt a mix of pride and being touched by the immense display of affection from the crowd. At one moment during the performance, Nick gave him a glance that almost made him tear up while singing.
The Jonas Brothers’ tour, launching in their native New Jersey, can be seen as a heartfelt tribute spanning their 20-year musical journey. Consequently, during their performances, the band invited various artists who have played significant roles in their career.
As Jesse stepped onto the stage to perform “Beautiful Soul” with his fellow musicians, a wave of excitement swept through the crowd, causing them to sing along enthusiastically, with many fans joining in, resulting in a collective roar from the entire stadium echoing the 2004 hit song.
And Joe was sure to thank Jesse for taking a chance on them two decades earlier.
In his recollection, we had merely completed school tours at that moment, and he made the announcement unexpectedly. We were performing in shopping centers and for anyone willing to listen, trying to make a name for ourselves. Amazingly, there was someone who graciously gave us the opening act slot. We swiftly formed a friendship with this person, as they’re an exceptional artist.
Apart from the surprise appearance of the “Leavin'” singer, another unexpected guest graced the concert stage. The band Switchfoot, who the Jonas Brothers acknowledge as their early music influencers, took the stage to perform “Meant to Live” and “Hold On”. Furthermore, Dean Lewis joined at the piano for a rendition of “Love You Better”.
What took everyone by surprise during the event was Demi Lovato performing “Gotta Find You” and “This Is Me” together with her former co-star and boyfriend, Joe, from their “Camp Rock” days.
Nick mentioned on stage just before Demi appeared, “Joe secured the job, and later our dad somehow managed to include me and Kevin in the movie as well.” He went on to suggest, “Perhaps it’s fitting that we reminisce about a film called Camp Rock now, as we take a trip down memory lane together.
While the Jonas Brothers are enjoying their tour, let’s delve deeper into some of the most remarkable boy bands and girl groups throughout history. Enjoy the read!
The Backstreet Boys, as you may recall, debuted their first album in 1996, and in 1999 they released the album “Millennium”, which significantly shaped the music scene at the turn of the century. Fortunately, the original members – Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson – are still performing and delighting fans with their classic hits after more than two decades.
Cheers to the girl band that brought us Beyoncé! There’s no need to “Be Unpleasant” about Destiny’s Child, because Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams remain influential figures in their own right even today.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can’t help but reminisce about the legendary boy band that ruled the charts: ‘NSYNC, made up of Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, JC Chasez, and Chris Kirkpatrick. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for another reunion performance, as we aren’t quite ready to bid adieu just yet – no strings attached! After all, it’s hard to imagine saying “Bye, Bye, Bye” to such an iconic group.
If you want to win their affection, it’s essential to be accepted by their social circle, and boy, do they have a large one! The Spice Girls captivated the U.K. in the ’90s with their unique style and infectious tunes. Mel C, Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton were the dream team of British girl groups.
Man, I can’t even contain my excitement! Back in the ’90s, those Hanson brothers were absolutely killing it with their chart-topping hit “MMMBop.” Fast forward to 2013, they dropped an album together, but then Isaac, Taylor, and Zac decided to venture out on their own for some solo action – Taylor even added seven little ones to his family! But fear not fellow fans, these brothers came back together in 2018 with the release of “String Theory” album, and they’ve been rocking stages ever since.
Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas continue to form the ’90s rap group TLC even after the unfortunate death of original member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in 2002. Lil Mama joined them for a performance in 2013, prior to which TLC announced their new album in 2017.
Since 2017, the popular South Korean boy band BTS has taken on multiple roles as songwriters, producers, and performers, establishing themselves as global sensations. Their dedicated fanbase, known as the ‘Army,’ is renowned for its unwavering passion, making them one of music history’s most fervent fan groups.
Absolutely, Nick Lachey was part of a popular boy band known as 98 Degrees. Just reminiscing about it gives me a rush. Alongside his brother Drew Lachey and Justin Jeffre, Nick, along with music producer Jeff Timmons, left their college studies to chase their musical dreams in the ’90s. They formed the group after realizing their shared passion for music.
In the late 1980s, New Kids on the Block experienced an incredible rise to popularity, and the band reassembled in 2011 for a nostalgic tour alongside The Backstreet Boys.
The original members of New Kids on the Block were siblings Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood. After disbanding in 1994, they later reunited and went on tour with the Backstreet Boys in 2011, an event that caused quite a stir online. Unsurprisingly, this tour announcement sent waves throughout the internet. They continue to perform together today.
It’s fantastic to have the Jonas Brothers back! Their return brings Nick Jonas’ charming smile, Joe Jonas’ cool demeanor, and Kevin Jonas’ authoritative charm. To make things even better, they can both sing and play instruments exceptionally well. We apologize if our enthusiasm is a little over the top, but their band’s debut in 2006 left quite an impression on us!
One of the most outstanding bands to emerge from a singing competition show, One Direction, dominated the globe during the 2010s. This boy band has launched numerous successful solo careers, including Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, and the late Liam Payne, all of whom have left indelible marks in music (and fashion and film) history.
The group formed on “The X Factor” is a regal quartet of pop music who sing about embracing different body types, championing feminist ideals, addressing the challenges of social media, and balancing their roles as mothers in their youth.
The band Blackpink, comprised of Lisa, Rosé, Jennie, and Jisoo, is a K-pop group that released their debut album named “THE ALBUM” in October 2020. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Rosé described the name as representing two colors that symbolize them best: they are feminine yet fierce. They have a song titled ‘Pretty Savage,’ which fits with their moniker ‘black pink.’ This term, according to her, encapsulates their personalities the most.
Prior to the world adopting the “Work From Home” lifestyle as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Fifth Harmony provided fans with an energetic (and sensual) theme song to help alleviate any WFH-related stress. Following her departure from the girl group in 2018, breakout singer Camila Cabello enjoyed a prosperous solo career, even landing the role of Cinderella! Other members of Fifth Harmony have also embarked on successful individual projects.
5 Seconds of Summer, a rock band hailing from Australia, initially gained recognition through their YouTube videos. Their songs “She Looks So Perfect” and “Girls Talk Boys” then received airplay on the radio. Subsequently, they toured as the opening act for One Direction, which marked a significant milestone in their career. The story since then has been one of continued success.
For nearly three decades, the trio comprising Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Wanya Morris, popularly known as Boyz II Men, have been captivating audiences with chart-topping tracks such as “I’ll Make Love to You” and “One Sweet Day.
As a lifestyle aficionado, let me share some trivia about my personal favorite band back in the day – The Wanted, hailing from the UK. They were known as the edgier counterpart to One Direction. In 2012, they made a splash in the US with their smashing hit “Glad You Came.” Their lives became even more captivating when they starred in their reality series, aptly titled “The Wanted Life.”
However, after reaching great heights, they decided to take a break in 2014. They reunited again in 2021, but unfortunately, our founding member Tom Parker left us the following year due to brain cancer. It’s a bittersweet memory that will forever remain etched in my heart.
In 2016, the music group CNCO came together with members Joel Pimentel, Richard Camacho, Erick Brian Colón, Christopher Vélez, and Zabdiel De Jesús. However, on May 14, they performed together for the last time as a five-piece, as Pimentel announced his departure from the group.
For five years, the band Big Time Rush thrived, going from Nickelodeon to national tours. After parting ways in 2014, it’s delightful that all four members – Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, Carlos PenaVega, and James Maslow – reconnected for two new shows as of December 2021.
In a notable achievement, the British pop band known as Girls Aloud became history makers by being one of the first groups to emerge from a reality television competition series. This milestone took place in the year 2002 when they appeared on the show “Popstars: The Rivals.” Comprised of strong vocalists such as Sarah Harding, Cheryl (formerly known as Cheryl Cole), Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh, Girls Aloud went on to record an impressive string of 20 top 10 singles and four number ones, including “Sound of the Underground,” during their successful reign.
