Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s First Demo Already Filled Every Spot in Less Than 24 Hours

Currently, there’s a high level of excitement surrounding the upcoming game “Pokemon Legends: Z-A“. In fact, it’s possible that this game could be one of the most eagerly awaited titles of 2025. Interestingly, a demo for the game will be accessible at the Pokemon World Championships in Anaheim, California towards the end of this month. To manage the expected rush, Nintendo has taken an innovative step. Instead of making players stand in line for hours to play the demo, they’ve introduced an online registration system. This system requires participants to obtain a Warp Pipe Pass using their Nintendo Accounts. Registration commenced on August 11th at 9 a.m. PT, and all available spots have already been filled.

Participants in the Pokémon World Championships were scheduled to register for a demo session by Thursday, August 14th, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Regrettably, anyone who delayed in securing a time slot has likely missed their chance. Given that this is a fresh mainline Pokémon game, it’s not surprising that spots filled up swiftly. The rapid demand for the demo sessions underscores the high level of enthusiasm currently surrounding the game. It’s speculated that Nintendo and The Pokémon Company might add more demo sessions due to this interest, but no official confirmation has been given yet.

The initial mainline Pokemon game since Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which released in 2022, is Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This gap between games is longer than what fans usually experience, leading to curiosity about the final product. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet encountered a fair share of criticism due to launch performance problems, so fans are eager that history won’t repeat itself. As this demo offers the first opportunity for hands-on play, it could provide our initial insight into how things are developing.

It appears that all demo spots for Pokemon Legends: Z-A were snapped up rapidly, suggesting strong demand for the game when it’s released later this year. Nintendo seems to be promoting Pokemon Legends: Z-A as its major release towards the end of 2025, and they’ve announced a special bundle that includes a digital copy of the game along with the Nintendo Switch 2. This bundle is scheduled to hit stores on October 16th, which coincides with the release date of Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

As the launch date for Pokemon Legends: Z-A approaches in approximately two months, there remains a fair amount of mystery surrounding the game’s details. So far, The Pokemon Company has only confirmed one new Mega Evolution, which is Mega Dragonite. Earlier leaks hinted at more than just this, suggesting that popular Pokemon like Greninja and Starmie may also receive Mega Evolutions. However, the specific designs for these potential Mega Evolutions have yet to be unveiled. It’s possible that we won’t see them until the game is released this fall, though some details might not surface until then.
