Linsey Davis is speaking out about her private health journey.
The ABC News host openly discussed her struggle with uterine fibroids, which are non-cancerous growths on the uterus. She clarified that due to an upcoming surgery, she would need to take some time off from her news presenting duties.
During the August 11th broadcast of ABC News Live Prime with Linsey Davis, Linsey, age 47, expressed that she hadn’t fully grasped the situation. She mentioned that as a regular runner, she started going out for runs and usually walked back home along the same route. However, all of a sudden, she found herself lacking the usual energy she had.
She went on to say, “Coincidentally, I was having a blood test done, and the following day, my doctor contacted me saying, ‘It appears you may require an iron injection.’
Prior to Lupita Nyong’o publicly sharing her encounter with fibroids, Linsey had disclosed that she too suffered from symptoms such as persistent bloating, severe discomfort during menstruation, and chronic fatigue.
Following her myomectomy, where the fibroids were removed but her uterus was preserved, the fibroids returned, prompting her to consider a more enduring and decisive solution.
Linsey, who has a son named Ayden (age 9) with her husband Paul Roberts, candidly expressed that her hysterectomy seemed to be the ultimate solution. She’s not yet fully through menopause and confessed, “I didn’t want to potentially endure another five, six, or seven years like this.
Although Linsey feels anxious about the upcoming surgery that involves the total removal of her uterus, she’s content with the choice she has made.
She clarified, “I’ve never undergone a significant operation in the past. When I learned about possible complications like blood clots following surgery, it sparked some worry within me. With my son being my only child and no plans for more, I suppose I just want to ensure things are permanently settled.
She stated, ‘This situation gives me so much anxiety, sorrow, and requires a different approach for my daily routine, that I truly feel prepared to conclude this chapter.’
Before undergoing her surgery, Linsey underscored the significance of revealing her own experience.
She expressed relief when she realized she wasn’t facing this ordeal alone, as it’s a hardship disproportionately shared by many Black women. It was heartening for her to know others had survived. Now, by sharing her personal story, she hopes that more women will find the courage to speak up and not endure their struggles in isolation anymore.

As an over-the-moon fanatic of the dynamic duo, the Biebers, I can’t help but share their harrowing ordeal that unfolded during a tranquil breakfast back in March 2022. My beloved Hailey, the radiant Rhode skincare queen, recounted the incident on YouTube a month later.
She described Justin asking her if she was okay, to which she initially couldn’t respond because she wasn’t quite sure. Then, when she tried to speak, she found herself unable, and the right side of her face began drooping. She struggled to form a sentence.
Thankfully, the facial drooping ceased, and her speech returned, but Hailey felt uneasy and decided to visit the hospital for a check-up. The doctors conducted some scans and identified a small blood clot in her brain, which they categorized as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA).
Intrigued by this revelation, Hailey delved deeper into her health at the University of California, Los Angeles. Here, she discovered a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). It seemed that the blood clot had made its escape through this hole and traveled to her brain, leading to the TIA.
Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and reported feeling fantastic ever since. This tale serves as a stark reminder of the importance of regular health checks and the miracles of modern medicine. #BieberStrong ❤️
In the same year as Hailey’s health incident, Justin also faced a health challenge, namely Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis in parts of his face. This condition forced him to halt the rest of his Justice World Tour. Justin explained on Instagram that the virus attacked the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, leading to facial paralysis. He was unable to blink one eye, smile on one side of his face, or move one nostril. The paralysis made eating difficult but eventually subsided. Hailey confirmed on a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America that Justin is recovering well and feeling much better after the unexpected and frightening situation.
Initially tight-lipped about his April 2023 hospitalization, Jamie Foxx eventually shared his experiences. In Atlanta one day, as he recalled in his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”, he complained of a severe headache to a friend and requested an aspirin. Before receiving it, however, he blacked out and lost consciousness for twenty days.
Upon being seen by a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, Foxx’s sister Deidra Dixon took him to another hospital where they discovered the cause: a brain hemorrhage that resulted in a stroke. After undergoing surgery on the 20th day, Foxx woke up May 4 in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He subsequently traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“I can only express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “as I believe each one of them was essential.
In a gym, actress Emilia Clarke fell ill during a severe headache, vomiting profusely and realizing her brain was damaged. Rushed to the hospital, she was diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) due to an arterial rupture, or aneurysm. Immediately undergoing surgery, she endured immense pain during recovery and even suffered from aphasia, speaking incoherently.
Fortunately, Emilia recovered and left the hospital after a month. However, in 2013, a growth related to her condition had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery. Unfortunately, the operation failed, and she experienced a massive bleed. Undergoing old-fashioned brain surgery through her skull, she managed to recover once more and is now reportedly in excellent health.
Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, expresses gratitude for her family after experiencing a severe stroke in January 2024. Upon learning about her condition, her loved ones immediately rushed to be by her side. My kidneys were failing, there were many complications.” Today, Cori is on the road to recovery. She added, “I’m feeling much better now. I had to regain some motor skills, but otherwise, I was okay.
