Although the detailed summary for season 2 is still under wraps, it’s clear that Landman will delve deeper into the bustling towns of West Texas.

In simpler terms, the story takes place in contemporary times, focusing on individuals pursuing wealth in the sphere of offshore drilling operations.

According to the acclaimed 11-part podcast ‘Boomtown,’ produced by Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the series follows the story of oil workers and wealthy entrepreneurs who are driving a massive boom that is not only altering our environment, economy, and global politics, but is also taking place in our homes and workplaces.

As a cinephile eagerly scanning the horizon of upcoming TV shows, I must say, the swift announcement of Season 2’s renewal of the series in March took me aback – but it shouldn’t have! The creative minds behind this captivating production had long harbored ambitions for a multi-episode journey. Here’s to a thrilling continuation!

Christian Wallace, one of The Direct’s co-creators, expressed earlier that he is eager to continue storytelling as long as there are tales worth sharing. He believes that the first season only scratched the surface of what they have to offer, considering the extensive ground they covered. Upon the renewal of Landman for its second season, Chris McCarthy, who serves as president and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks, made a statement expressing that Landman stood out as one of the year’s most successful shows due to Taylor Sheridan’s exceptional talent in capturing the spirit of the times. He skillfully wove themes reminiscent of the American West-such as rugged individualism, ambition, and struggles of the working class-into a backdrop that mirrors current discussions on energy, climate change, and economic development.

Thanks to a popular TV show, Paramount+ has reached greater success, ranking second among subscription video-on-demand services in the U.S. for Original Hours Watched during Q4. This achievement was shared with other successful series such as Tulsa King, The Agency, Lioness, and Dexter: Original Sin.

For Season 2 of Landman, it has been confirmed that the stellar cast will feature Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.

Of course, after the events of season 1, Jon Hamm will not be returning for any more episodes.
