WWE Raw Superstar Suddenly Moves to SmackDown (And It’s Exactly What They Needed)

On the build-up for Clash in Paris, WWE SmackDown was brimming with developments, strengthening or introducing fresh elements to various feuds. This applied to the heated rivalries like Tiffany Stratton against Jade Cargill, and Alexa Bliss versus Charlotte Flair featuring Chelsea Green and the Secret Service. However, none of these matched the surprise shift that occurred when WWE unexpectedly transferred a major Superstar from Raw to SmackDown permanently, timing it perfectly.

Tonight’s WWE SmackDown started with Solo Sikoa and his MFTs storming into the ring, but their entrance was quickly halted by Sami Zayn. As Zayn entered, the SmackDown crowd erupted in cheers, but their excitement reached new heights when Zayn announced that he wasn’t confronting Sikoa only for the moment at hand.

In a thrilling turn of events, I can’t hide my excitement as I recount the intense confrontation between Zayn and Sikoa. What made this showdown particularly noteworthy was that Zayn had some shocking news to share: he had officially joined the SmackDown roster and was setting his sights on none other than Sikoa’s WWE United States Championship! This audacious declaration certainly didn’t sit well with Sikoa, who responded by summoning the MFTs for an immediate attack on Zayn.

However, in a surprising twist, Zayn received a timely assist from his ex-Bloodline teammate, Jimmy Uso. The crowd roared with approval as these two wrestling giants stood together, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead!

In the heat of the action, I dashed out and lent a hand to Zayn within the arena, yet Sikoa maintained his upper hand due to numerical superiority. It was then that Jacob Fatu made his entrance, charging past Tala Tonga and clashing with Sikoa squarely in the ring. The concerted efforts of all three combatants eventually succeeded in ousting Tonga from the ring, knocking him down to the floor. In an unexpected twist, Nick Aldis announced that a six-man Tag Team match had been arranged for SmackDown’s main event, pitting Zayn, Uso, and Fatu against three members of MFT.

Why It’s the Perfect Time for a Move

I’m thrilled about this development for me, as my recent narrative didn’t quite live up to its promise following Karrion Kross’ departure. Our last encounter at SummerSlam marked the end of our tale, wrapping it up even before news broke that Kross wouldn’t be returning to WWE.

Prior to the aforementioned narrative, Zayn had previously been involved in plots or rivalries with Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker, CM Punk, and Jey Uso. Following his tale with Kross, there weren’t many new opportunities available on Raw for him to explore next.

With his move to SmackDown, things take a significant turn. This new narrative provides an excellent opportunity for him to seamlessly integrate with Jimmy Uso, enriching their shared past. Moreover, the presence of Jacob Fatu brings novelty to this storyline, as Zayn has not had much interaction with him when they were on the same team. Although he remains connected to The Bloodline, this new development offers something fresh for Zayn to explore and elevate, especially with the United States Title within his sights.

This indicates that Zayn now has a fresh workspace to consider possible rivals. After this ongoing story concludes, Aleister Black, Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, LA Knight, Randy Orton, R-Truth, Rey Fenix, and Andrade all present compelling prospects for Zayn to engage in a feud with. If additional promotions from NXT occur over the next few months, this pool of potential opponents will broaden even more. This is a beneficial step for Zayn and hopefully will help guide his current stint towards some new (and desperately required) direction.
