As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly awaiting news about the revival of a classic PS3 title I adore, which appears to have prematurely leaked ahead of its grand unveiling. Despite numerous games from the PlayStation 3 era transitioning to current-gen platforms, it’s disheartening to see so many others still tethered to the original console. Titles like Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Infamous, the Resistance trilogy, Puppeteer, Heavenly Sword, and Killzone 2 are just a few that continue to elude us on the retro PlayStation console. However, it seems that one of these beloved games may soon break free from the PS3 shackles and return in an updated form.
Bandai Namco Entertainment recently scheduled a YouTube video titled “Tales of Series News” to air on August 18th. This video was intended to discuss updates related to their popular role-playing game franchise, Tales of. However, the video was taken down presumably because it was uploaded prematurely ahead of an official announcement. Nevertheless, eagle-eyed fans managed to catch a significant upcoming reveal before its removal.
In this video preview, you’ll notice that the thumbnail showcases characters from the 2011 released game, Tales of Xillia, which was exclusive to PS3 and later made available in the West in 2013. The game’s success led to a sequel, Tales of Xillia 2, also exclusive to PS3. Interestingly, despite their popularity, these Tales games have never been ported to any other platforms during the past ten years. However, if recent leaks are true, it appears that this could finally be changing.
It seems Bandai Namco Europe inadvertently posted a YouTube Premiere video titled “Tales of Series News,” scheduled for August 18, which briefly displayed a thumbnail hinting at the remaster of Tales of Xillia.

It seems likely that the characters from “Tales of Xillia” may have appeared in a leaked video, implying that Bandai Namco is planning to re-release the game (and possibly its sequel) with improved graphics on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC systems. This move aligns with past actions by Bandai Namco, such as the remastering of “Tales of Graces f” in 2025. Furthermore, Bandai Namco has announced their intention to unveil a new Tales remaster this year to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. While the news of a possible remaster for “Tales of Xillia” isn’t entirely unexpected, it’s certainly an exciting prospect for fans worldwide.
At present, it’s uncertain when the game Tales of Xillia Remastered will make its global debut. However, we might learn more about it soon in the upcoming days.
