Jinger Duggar Vuolo is throwing her hat into a crowded ring.
After Jana Duggar, the eldest sister among the Duggars, announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband Stephen Wissman, the 31-year-old started her bid to be the favorite family member, having three children already with her husband Jeremy Vuolo.
Jinger expressed her excitement on her August 18 Instagram Story for her sister, Janam Duggars, and Stephen Wissman. She can’t wait to meet their upcoming baby and claims she’ll be the preferred aunt!
Jana diplomatically responded to her sister’s attempt to claim the title among herself and the other Duggar women, which included Jill Duggar Dillard, Jessa Duggar Seewald, Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, Jennifer Duggar, Jordyn Duggar, and Josie Duggar, as well as her seven sisters-in-law. She playfully acknowledged the competition in a post on her Instagram Story by saying “Thanks! It seems there are several aunt contenders vying for that title.
Of course, she’s more focused on embracing her new label as Mom.
January 2026 can’t arrive soon enough, as it will bring a precious little one into our family! Jana and Stephen expressed their excitement on an August 18 Instagram post. They’re anxiously awaiting the arrival of this exciting addition to their lives and are eager for the new chapter that is about to unfold.
In this segment of their tale, it’s nearly been a year since their wedding ceremony in Arkansas last August. Interestingly, Jana, besides her twin brother John-David Duggar, has only brother Josh Duggar who is older than her in the birth order. Remarkably, she had witnessed 11 of her siblings getting married before her. Consequently, she highlighted that getting married was a cherished dream come true for her.
The 35-year-old expressed to People at the time, “I believe this is a dream many girls picture for themselves someday.” For me, it seemed unfathomable earlier, but now, as reality begins to settle in, I find myself amazed, realizing that this is indeed something I’ve long desired.
Yet, despite finding it challenging to watch some of her siblings find their lifelong partners ahead of her, Jana emphasized that Stephen made waiting for him more than worthwhile.
She shared that sometimes she hasn’t fully grasped the larger context, but she believes that God has the best plan for everyone. As such, her choice is to postpone marriage for now. She added, ‘If every story was identical, life would be monotonous.’

Originally, a pair who fell in love during high school went on to become the parents of nearly two dozen children, along with more than three dozen grandchildren.
Michelle has recounted an experience where she felt “rescued” at the age of 15. One evening, Jim Bob was going door-to-door in the community for his Baptist church’s outreach program when he was informed by a friend that a girl from school who had recently been converted and was a cheerleader lived at the Ruark family home.
They extended an invitation for Michelle to attend a Sunday school gathering at their church, and Jim Bob expressed hope that they could serve as each other’s spiritual guides – although it seemed their initial encounter didn’t leave a lasting impression on Michelle. About a year later, she applied for work at the frozen yogurt shop owned by Jim Bob’s family. In her letter, posted on their blog in 2017 for Jim Bob’s birthday and their 33rd wedding anniversary, Michelle reminisced about their first encounter: “You stood behind the counter near the cash register when I approached, and we exchanged introductions. You were timid but charming! I don’t recall much of that chat, except that you eventually summoned the confidence to ask me if I would accompany you to your junior-senior banquet!
In a simpler and more conversational style, the sentence could be rephrased as follows: After attending dinner with him at Shiloh Christian, they spent hours discussing the Bible at her parents’ house, which is when she felt their bond deepen. As Michelle put it, “our hearts were knit together” from that point on. They graduated high school in May of 1984 and got married in July, with Michelle being 17 years old and Jim Bob being 19.
The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.
Jim Bob was previously a state legislator, representing Arkansas’s sixth district in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002. During this time, he served as vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. He attempted to run for the U.S. Senate in 2002 but was unsuccessful in the primary, and also failed to secure the Republican nomination for Arkansas State Senate District 35 in 2006.
They, along with Michelle, being licensed realtors, are actively involved in conservative movements – a part of their lives that has earned them admirers (as supporters) and detractors (as critics). This duo is also known for backing and criticizing the show “19 Kids and Counting,” which debuted as “17 Kids and Counting” in 2008.
As of October 2024, they were grandparents of 33 with three on the way.
The eldest child of the Duggars, Josh Duggar, was born on the 3rd of March, 1988. Similar to his activism leanings, he also turned into a conservative advocate, working towards causes supported by the Family Research Council.
In 2015, shocking revelations emerged from long-hidden police records, exposing that I had been falsely accused of inappropriate behavior towards multiple girls, including my dear sisters Jessa and Jill Duggar, when I was a youth. Though these accusations were far from the truth, they painted me in an unflattering light. In a heart-to-heart interview with Fox News that June, my sister Jessa stood by my side, courageously speaking out against the extreme slander and fabrications people were spreading about me. She bravely declared that she, as one of the victims herself, knew these accusations to be an exaggerated truth at best, a blatant lie at worst – a statement that understandably stirred controversy.
His wife, Anna Duggar, who exchanged vows with him during their wedding on September 26, 2008 (which was showcased on the series “19 Kids and Counting”), stood by his side even after he confessed to infidelity.
In 2016, when he admitted himself to a rehabilitation facility, his parents considered it as the pivotal initial move towards his recovery and healing process.
The parents of Mackynzie (born October 8, 2009), Michael (June 15, 2011), and Marcus (June 2, 2013) were expecting their fourth child, Meredith, when a scandal occurred. Anna gave birth to Meredith on the same day TLC canceled “19 Kids” (July 16, 2015). Their fifth child, Mason Garett, was born on September 12, 2017, and Maryella Hope came along on November 27, 2019. Lastly, their seventh child, Madyson Lily, joined the family on October 23, 2021.
In an indictment filed in April 2021, Josh faced two charges related to child pornography: one for receiving it, and another for possessing it. He denied any wrongdoing on both charges. In the year 2022, he was convicted of both offenses, though the possession charge was later dismissed by the judge. As a result, Josh received a sentence of 12 and a half years in prison.
A short time following Josh’s birth, Michelle conceived another child, unfortunately experiencing a miscarriage. As they mourned this loss and sought divine direction, they received the happy news that twins were coming.
She expressed that it felt like a special double gift, explaining to Love to Know. “God was providing us comfort in our hearts as we continue to learn. It’s quite extraordinary because I breastfeed my babies and they are close in age. I recently had a baby and eight months later, I’m pregnant again. It’s just another remarkable instance of how the Lord has chosen to guide our unique circumstances.
John David Duggar and his twin sister Jana Duggar were born on Jan. 12, 1990.
After several years of knowing one another, but not closely, John David and Abbie-Grace Burnett met at a church event in Abbie’s home state of Oklahoma. Following a swift courtship and a brief engagement, they tied the knot on November 3, 2018.
On January 7, 2020, they were blessed with the arrival of their daughter Grace Annette Duggar, while their son Charlie Duggar joined the family in September 2022.
On Janaw’s 30th birthday in January 2020, she wrote a heartfelt message to John: “Since we were children, people have often wondered if John and I share some sort of ‘twin connection.’ You know, the idea that you can sense what the other person is feeling or thinking… For a long time, I’ve denied this, but when our daughter Gracie was born, I felt every ounce of joy that you did. So it seems like there might actually be something to it!
Jana went on to say, “It’s just delightful observing you and Abbie in your parental roles! You both seem so natural at it! The same outstanding traits that have made you such a great brother will undoubtedly make you an exceptional father.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can share my personal journey that mirrors Jana’s unique tale. In my extended family, I found myself observing as 11 out of 18 siblings tied the knot. It wasn’t until I met Stephen Wissmann, whose sister Hannah Wissmann is married to one of my own brothers, Jeremiah, that I discovered my own chapter of love.
Of course, there were moments of frustration along the way, but I firmly believe it was all part of a larger plan orchestrated by none other than God Himself.
In her interview with People prior to her August 15, 2024 wedding, Jana expressed that she hasn’t always been clear about the larger scheme of things but believes that God has the best plans for everyone. As such, she has decided to get married at a later stage in life. She added that everyone’s life story unfolds uniquely and if everyone were identical, life would lack excitement and variety.
Just over a year later, the couple shared that they’re expecting their first baby.
Born on May 17, 1991, Jill Dillard – formerly known as Jill Duggar – had a romantic encounter that mirrored her parents’ love story. On Christmas of 2011, she crossed paths with Derick, who lived approximately 45 minutes away, during his church group’s caroling visit to the Duggar family home.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share the heartwarming story of how Jim Bob played cupid for me (Jill) and my now husband, Derick. Our friendship blossomed through emails and Skype calls, and by November, he had captured my heart while we were visiting him in Nepal.
The bond between us only grew stronger, leading to the momentous question in February 2014: “Will you marry me, Jill?” Overjoyed, I said yes, and on June 21, 2014, we sealed our love with a beautiful wedding.
Since then, we’ve been blessed with three amazing sons-Israel, born on April 6, 2015, Samuel, who arrived on July 8, 2017, and the latest addition, Frederick, born on July 7, 2022. Each one is a testament to our enduring love and growing family.
In the month of April, 2024, Jill announced that she had experienced a miscarriage during her pregnancy with their first daughter together, Derick and herself.
In the Amazon Prime Video documentary titled “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets“, which debuted in June 2023, Jill and Derick pondered over the contentious issues and religious viewpoints related to Jill’s family, as depicted within it.
Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child, Jessa Duggar, was born Nov. 4, 1992.
In my experience as a lifestyle guide, I’ve had the pleasure of observing the unique love story between Jessa and Ben. They crossed paths through church in 2013, and Ben chose an antique yet appealing path for their relationship – the traditional courtship. To many viewers, this approach to romance was refreshingly new. Prior to their engagement, they kept their romantic journey private, a choice that was elucidated by Jim Bob as follows: “Courting is about getting to know each other in a group setting, with both families spending quality time together and the couple establishing shared goals to evaluate if they are destined for marriage. Dating often involves couples going out alone, which can sometimes lead to more physical intimacy.
In August 2014, Ben asked for Jessa’s hand in marriage and proposed. Their first moment of unity was when he held her hand. They exchanged vows on November 1, 2014. At the time, Jessa was expecting their first child. The cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting occurred as TLC aired a special focusing on sexual abuse, with contributions from Jill and Jessa, to enlighten viewers about the topic. That winter, the sisters rose to fame in their own show, Jill and Jessa: Counting On, which later expanded to include other Duggar siblings under the title Counting On.
In November 2015, Jessa and Ben became parents to Spurgeon. They welcomed Henry into their family on February 6, 2017, followed by Ivy Jane on May 28, 2019, and Fern in July 2021. Tragically, during the 2022 holiday season, Jessa suffered a miscarriage. However, she went on to give birth to George in December 2023.
In August 2025, Jessa announced the birth of son Edward.
The sixth Duggar child, Jinger Vuolo, was born Dec. 21, 1993.
In a church-related project in Laredo, Texas, Jinger and Jeremy first crossed paths in 2016. Their romantic relationship blossomed shortly after, leading to their engagement. On November 5, 2016, which also happened to be the birthday of Jinger’s nephew Spurgeon (among many family milestones!), they got married. Soon after their nuptials, there were whispers and speculations about a potential pregnancy.
Jinger indicated during a June 2017 episode of Counting On that they likely would be settled in Laredo, continuing their ministry, and simply trying to serve the Lord in whatever capacity they can.
It’s stated that their beloved child named Felicity came into their world on July 19, 2018. Back in May of that year, they publicly disclosed that Jinger was expecting once more-tragically, she had endured a miscarriage the previous autumn. Then, in November 2020, they joyfully welcomed their daughter Evangeline Jo to their family.
Son Finnegan Charles was born March 29, 2025.
Joseph Duggar was born on January 20, 1995. He took advantage of the romantic atmosphere and proposed to Kendra, whom he had met through church, during his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding in May 2017, after only a few months of dating.
Joseph shared with People that he was certainly anxious leading up to it, yet he wasn’t worried about her declining his proposal because she had already expressed, “‘I’ve been waiting for you!'” Afterward, he added that Kendra was overwhelmed with joy and shock. She mentioned having numerous words to express her feelings but was predominantly shocked.
Since then, they have declared the births of their son Garrett (born in June 2018), their daughter Addison (born in November 2019), and their other daughter Brooklyn (born in February 2021).
Eighth in line, Josiah Duggar was born on Aug. 28, 1996.
Approximately three months into their public relationship, the duo declared their engagement in March 2018. As stated, the location where he proposed to Lauren was the same spot where her parents got engaged previously. The property holds significant familial history, adding to its sentimental value for Lauren.
In a video shared on their family blog, Michelle (future mother-in-law) expressed her affection for Lauren, saying, “Lauren is truly a precious girl whom we love deeply.” Alongside this, Jessa and Ben extended their congratulations and presented Lauren with chocolate shaped like X’s and O’s. Holding up the treat as an enticement, Michelle hinted, “I suspect you might want to save your first kiss for your wedding day, but if you visit us here, we’ll offer you something sweet instead.
Josiah had a romantic history with Marjorie Jackson, but their relationship ended during the summer of 2015. As he explained to People in March 2016, they enjoyed each other’s company and were attempting to follow God’s guidance throughout their time together. However, Marjorie didn’t feel it was the appropriate moment, so they took a break from one another for a while.
On June 30, 2018, they officially got married, and they shared with People that their wedding day was “simply perfect.” Their first child, Bella Milagro, was born on November 8, 2019, a name meaning “miracle baby,” as the couple had previously experienced a miscarriage in October 2018. They added another daughter named Daisy to their family in 2022 and welcomed a son named Ezra in May 2023.
Ninth sibling Joy-Anna Duggar was born Oct. 28, 1997.
She had been friends with Austin Forsyth for fifteen years before he began pursuing her. After this, there was no delay. He proposed in February 2017, and they married on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas – a church where Joseph also proposed to Kendra.
Joy-Anna and Austin are proud to announce the births of their children: Gideon Martin Forsyth on February 23, 2018, Evelyn Mae Forsyth on August 21, 2020, and Gunner James Forsyth on May 17, 2023.
The second pair of twins for Jim Bob and Michelle, named Jed Duggar and Jeremiah Duggar, arrived on December 30, 1998.
In the spring of 2021, Jed tied the knot with Katey Nakatsu, following a year of romance. Together, they have become proud parents to son Truett, who was born in May 2022, and daughter Nora Kate, who joined their family in June 2023.
In July 2024, Jed and Katey declared they were expecting twins, and their lovely daughters, Elsie Kate and Emma Kate, arrived on the 8th of January, 2025.
Jeremiah, a qualified flying tutor, is married to Hannah Wissmann (sister of Stephen, Jana’s husband), and together they are the proud parents of daughter Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, born in February 2024.
They announced the arrival of their third daughter, Emery ‘Emy’ Jane Duggar, on May 18, 2025.
No. 12 Jason Duggar was born on April 21, 2000.
In January 2017, according to the Daily Mail, Jim Bob assisted Jase in purchasing a $33,000 property in need of repair in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, which is approximately half an hour from the Duggar family’s main residence. Subsequently, he launched his own construction business.
In May 2024, he made their relationship public on Instagram with Maddie Grace, and they got married the very next October.
Charmed No. 13, James Duggar was born July 7, 2001.
He doesn’t have a romantic partner yet, but he is very loving as an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
On his 19th birthday in 2019, Michelle wrote that James is like a beloved uncle to everyone around here, with many young boys admiring him and aspiring to emulate him. James has an incredible knack for problem-solving, as even as a child he would often tinker with household appliances, disassembling them to understand their workings, making improvements, and reassembling them. In essence, James is an early innovator with a unique talent for mechanical ingenuity.
2021 saw James put in a great deal of effort to obtain his Commercial Driver’s License. Now, he’s mastered handling all sorts of large vehicles and heavy equipment! We’re eagerly anticipating what lies ahead for him, guided by divine plans.
No. 14 Justin Duggar arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.
Back in September 2020, I proudly introduced my beloved partner, Claire Spivey, to the world. We took our relationship to the next level the very next month when I popped the question, and we exchanged vows on February 26, 2021, officially becoming husband and wife.
In the company of his elder sister Jill, Jim Bob and Michelle welcomed their 15th child, named Jackson Duggar, on May 23, 2004.
When Jackson turned sixteen, his mother Michelle complimented his wit and mentioned how eager she knew he had been to obtain his driving license.
On his sixteenth birthday, mom Michelle commended Jackson on his humor and remarked that she was well aware of his eagerness to receive his driver’s license.
Johannah Duggar was born on October 11, 2005, which coincided with the title of the initial family showcase known as “16 Kids Under One Roof“.
On her daughter’s 15th birthday in 2020, Michelle wrote: “This girl is full of life and enjoys meeting new people. She’s such a blast to be around! Her younger sisters idolize her and believe she’s as wonderful as the moon itself. I couldn’t feel more blessed to be her mother!
Jennifer Duggar arrived on Aug. 2, 2007, then the baby of the family.
Their TLC show that premiered Sept. 29, 2008, was christened 17 Kids and Counting.
Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.
Michelle celebrated her daughter, Jennifer’s 13th birthday, by praising her as trustworthy, devoted, and lively. Adored by her nieces and nephews who often cling to her, she’s always seen carrying one around because they don’t want to be left behind! Jennifer also shares a deep affection for animals and diligently cares for them daily. Notably, she recently assisted in rearing a brood of 7 baby bunnies!
Here on the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.
In 2019, Jordyn-Grace was described by her mom as an outgoing girl who never fails to make new friends, and her laughter is often one of the most uplifting moments we experience.
Josie Duggar, seen here cradling her niece Meredith, was born on December 10, 2009, three months early and weighing just 1 pound and 6 ounces. Due to her prematurity, she required six long months of care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
On her baby’s 11th birthday in 2020, Michelle expressed that Josie is full of vigor. From sunrise to bedtime, Josie seldom pauses for a rest!
