As a die-hard Marvel fan, let me say that among the countless epic tales woven in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, none quite captivated me like the intricate bond shared by Thor and Loki. Throughout the Infinity Saga, these two brothers embark on an extraordinary journey side by side, but I’ve come to discover that their connection runs deeper than I initially thought.
A post on Instagram, which contains a different social media post, is going viral that makes reference to the complex relationship between Thor and Loki. Specifically, it references that in each of the first two Avengers movies, Thor, who believes his brother to be dead in both cases, is wearing tributes to his Loki, though they’re not the easiest thing to see. The post reads…
It’s hard to fathom that in the Avengers, Thor actually wore armor adorned with Loki’s helmet and in Age of Ultron, a strand of Loki’s hair was even incorporated into Thor’s own hairstyle. Yet, here Loki has the audacity to ask Thor, who clearly shows signs of grief over him, “Did you mourn me?” Indeed, Loki.
The response highlights the shock and disbelief at the detail in costume design in the Marvel movies, while also emphasizing Loki’s insensitivity towards Thor’s feelings for his deceased brother.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Loki’s demise is so frequent that it becomes challenging to follow. Every time Thor learns that his sibling isn’t actually deceased, it’s a significant moment. After their reunion in Thor: Ragnarok, Loki inquires if Thor grieved for him when he believed Loki was dead. It’s evident that Thor did mourn him.
Age of Ultron. Although it isn’t mentioned in the film, it’s clearly visible and adds a nice touch.
Or even more informally:
I didn’t catch these costume details in the Avengers movie initially, but they are definitely there! Thor already knew his brother was alive when he showed up, but his armor looked like it was made before that moment. I also loved the little detail of Thor’s hairstyle in Age of Ultron, which wasn’t mentioned in the film, but it added a nice touch.

Indeed, there are other instances where Thor’s affection for his deceased brother is highlighted. To illustrate this point, let’s take the instance when Loki dies for a third time at the start of Avengers: Infinity War. At this moment, Thor demonstrates his deep love for his brother in a remarkable way. As another commenter pointed out, this incident underscores their bond.
And the fact that he had Loki’s helmet tattooed on his back in love and thunder
As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I’d put it this way: “In Marvel’s ‘Love and Thunder,’ you can hardly overlook the scene featuring a bare Thor – they’ve made it quite noticeable! However, with all the excitement, it’s understandable if you might have blinked and missed it.

The tale of Thor and Loki has been quite an adventure so far, and it seems their story might continue. While Loki appears to still be around in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), or perhaps a variant of him does, both Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are part of the cast for “Avengers: Doomsday.” Given their past, it’s quite probable that we’ll see these brothers reunited once more. In fact, leaving them apart even briefly could feel like a missed opportunity.
Recently, both Thor and Loki have encountered significant events – Loki overseeing the multiverse and Thor becoming a parent. Without a doubt, there would be plenty for them to discuss.
