Margot Robbie Steps Out for First Red Carpet Since Giving Birth

Margot Robbie is back in movie star Barbie mode.

Nearly a year since their baby boy’s arrival, the actress who was nominated for an Oscar stepped back onto the red carpet with her husband, Tom Ackerley. However, the child’s name remains undisclosed as of now.

On August 20th, Margot stood next to her co-star Colin Farrell from the movie “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, both of them rejoicing over their upcoming romantic fantasy.

The 35-year-old woman looked remarkable in a tight, black mini-dress, complete with strappy black high heels and her signature blonde hairstyle. Instead of formal attire, Colin opted for a relaxed look, sporting blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and a black cardigan.

In addition to Margot’s first public outing since she became a mother, this occasion also signifies her return to the big screen for the first time since the 2023 release of Barbie marks her debut.

The actress from The Wolf of Wall Street seems to be diving straight back into her work after giving birth to her son, as she was recently seen filming Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights in March.

Even when out and doing activities, Margot manages to keep her infant son nearby. In truth, this new mother displayed a charming trinket as she took a dip in Australia during April – a golden necklace with the word “mama” engraved on it.

Similarly, much like the implicit mentions of their shared son, Margot and Tom – a couple who jointly run production company LuckyChap – have seldom held back on expressing their affectionate tales of their romantic journey together.

In 2016, when they tied the knot, she confided to Vogue that their friendship spanned a considerable time. She had always harbored feelings for him, but she thought, “He wouldn’t return my affections, Margot. Don’t act strange or be foolish and express your feelings to him.

However, upon her explanation, she said, “It indeed occurred, and I felt, ‘Naturally, we belong together. Nothing has ever felt this right before.’

Following their encounter on the set of Suite Française, Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley, along with friends Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr, jointly established a production company named LuckyChap Entertainment.

Seven individuals, including the business partners, resided communally in a spacious three-bedroom home located within London’s Clapham district, sharing living quarters.

Under the same roof, a close bond formed between the actress and the third assistant director, evolving their relationship beyond friendship.

In a 2018 interview with Elle, I admitted that at first, we weren’t giving it much thought and kept our friendship under wraps. ‘Just friends, just friends,’ I’d say to myself, unaware of the secret brewing beneath the surface. But then, unexpectedly, the world caught wind of it.

The couple confirmed their romance during a PDA-outing to a New York Rangers game in February 2015.

Robbie openly admitted that she had long harbored feelings of love for Ackerley, believing at first that her attraction to what she referred to as “the most handsome man in London” was unrequited.

Initially, she considered herself as a dedicated single woman, finding the thought of relationships nauseating. However, an unexpected turn of events occurred – they were longtime friends. Despite harboring feelings for him, she believed he would never reciprocate her affection. To avoid awkwardness, she advised herself not to disclose her feelings. Eventually, their relationship blossomed, and it felt as if everything fell into place effortlessly – a situation that made no sense until then.

The longtime couple tied the knot during a private ceremony in Australia’s Byron Bay.

At the wedding, Robbie drew attention with a shirt saying “Say I Do Down Under” prior to announcing the marriage by displaying her shining engagement ring afterward.

The duo, who jointly produced the Academy Award-winning film “I, Tonya”, shared that they postponed their wedding trip to film the movie instead.

In an interview with Extra, Robbie shared that they opted to work on this film rather than going on their honeymoon. There were moments when they found themselves in a car parked in Atlanta, shivering cold, thinking, “We should be basking on a beach. We should be on our honeymoon. What are we doing here?!” They chose to pursue their dream instead.

At the global debut of “Barbie,” Ackerley accompanied Robbie, who donned an eye-catching attire reminiscent of the 1961 “Solo in the Spotlight” Barbie, and they were together at every event during the promotional tour.

The pair had their first holiday since the Barbie press tour, and they passionately kissed in the tranquil Greek waters.

Despite choosing to keep their romantic life private, Robbie publicly commended his “ordinary” spouse during the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards.

Robbie expressed his gratitude to TopMob News’ Chief Correspondent Keltie Knight on the red carpet, stating, “I feel incredibly fortunate,” he said. “He enjoys working behind the camera and remains unfazed by all the commotion around him.

For the first time, Ackerley was an Oscar nominee and attended the ceremony alongside Robbie, who himself had been recognized with three previous nominations.

He expressed to A Frame, “It’s truly astonishing! There are moments when it’s utterly overpowering, yet it’s also an extraordinary tribute to cinema. To be right in the thick of it, honestly, it feels like a long-cherished dream realized.

Barbie received eight nominations in total, including Best Picture.

In July 2024, she revealed her pregnancy for the first time. Then, come November of the same year, it became public knowledge that the pair had given birth to their first child as a duo: a newborn son, and they’ve yet to disclose his name.
