Tammy Slaton is giving her smile an upgrade.
Amy Halterman, the star of “The 1000-Lb. Sisters,” shared updates about her recent dental work. She proudly disclosed that she has filled a noticeable gap in her front teeth which was present earlier.
On the August 19th edition of the lively “Creative Chaos” podcast, I couldn’t help but be captivated as Tammy gleefully displayed her enhanced grin for all to see. It seems her upper row now boasts a more robust presence, a transformation undeniably credited to her shiny, new dentures!
After the alteration was definitely apparent, the 39-year-old clarified that this isn’t yet the ultimate outcome she aspires to achieve.
Tammy explained, “For now, they’re still temporary, but they had to set them due to the fact that the glue wasn’t sticking – apparently, my body wasn’t accepting it. So, they had to remove some of my teeth.
The popular reality star shared details about a dental procedure she underwent. This procedure involved inserting a ‘false tooth’ known as a ‘bridge’, which is secured to nearby natural teeth, effectively filling in a gap within her smile.
“I’m still getting more done with it,” she added. “It’s a process.”
Regarding the reason behind Tammy choosing to get dental work done, she mentioned that one factor influencing her decision was silencing her critics who previously criticized her smile.
“Well, some of them,” Tammy amended, quipping, “Haters make me famous.”
Absolutely, the reality TV personality, who had a surgical procedure to remove excess skin in June following her significant weight loss during her transformation process, has earlier spoken up against her detractors. Notably, she responded to one online critic who advised her to improve her dental health.
In a January 2024 TikTok video, Tammy expressed, “I’d appreciate it if you could refrain from posting hurtful remarks like this. Your comments are actually undermining my self-confidence. I was making an effort to maintain and boost my confidence, but your comments about my chin or teeth are counterproductive.
Instead, Tammy explained that the cost made it impossible for her to get a smile makeover until then.
She went on to express her goal of improving herself and her life. She emphasized the importance of uplifting others, stating that even if she might have missing teeth, it doesn’t change this sentiment.
Tammy added, “It’s sad. Why hate?”

Following several months of hurdles that delayed Tammy’s eligibility for skin removal surgery, she ultimately received approval to undergo the operation.
She unveiled the results on a June 2025 episode of the TLC series.
Approximately a month after Tammy unveiled her revamped appearance post-skin removal surgery, she posted a collection of recent selfies showcasing her current life.
In the July 2025 update, she confidently displayed her new physique in a form-fitting bodysuit while flashing a smile towards the camera.
