On August 27, the PC edition of the role-playing game Death end re;Quest Code Z is set to be released on Steam, according to the announcement made by its publisher, Idea Factory International.
Death end re;Quest Code Z initially became available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on September 19, 2024 within Japan, with a subsequent release for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on May 13, 2025 in the Western regions.

As an avid gamer, I can’t help but express my excitement for this pulse-pounding Role Playing Game (RPG) that immerses me in a world contaminated by ominous bugs. Every step forward is fraught with peril as I navigate the complexities of this environment alongside a band of courageous youths. The story unfolds, brimming with intrigue and danger, written by the revered Makoto Kedouin, the creative mind behind the chilling Corpse Party series, which leaves me on the edge of my seat, constantly anticipating death at every twist and turn.
In 2018 for Japan, and in 2019 for North America and Europe, the initial part of the Death end re;Quest series debuted on PlayStation 4. Its successor, titled Death end re;Quest 2, was then released on PlayStation 4 in all three regions (Japan, North America, and Europe) in 2020.
Story
Step into a tale of parallel universes…
Iris was born on a world resembling Earth during the 2000s, named World DE-1. Her birth triggered a chain of unfortunate events that eventually unfolded due to the diligent work of Arata Mizunashi and his colleagues, as they worked tirelessly to untangle this complex web.
After mending relationships, Iris replicated the World DE-1 as World DE-1.5, where conflicts transformed into camaraderie, everyone becoming an integral part of a harmonious society. Yet, another predicament emerges, jeopardizing the tranquility…
In simpler terms, an enigmatic individual joins the action, heading a troop that resembles Earth’s previous champions. The new protagonist, Sayaka Hiwatari, steps up against the escalating turmoil, finding it challenging to tell allies from adversaries.
And so the battle with another world enters a new phase…
