Every Spider-Man Suit Tom Holland Has Worn in the MCU

I’ve been lucky enough to don nine different Spidey suits in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the latest unveiling for 2026’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” being the newest addition. My journey began back in 2016 when I joined the MCU as a 15-year-old Peter Parker in “Captain America: Civil War.” Stepping into the shoes of Marvel Comics’ web-slinger, previously played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, was an incredible honor.

During the Civil War, I chose to stand with Team Iron Man, and received some amazing upgrades from Tony Stark himself (Robert Downey Jr.). These included a cutting-edge Spider-Man suit that boosted my hero abilities for the adventures ahead.

After the Civil War, Tom Holland has starred as the main character in a trilogy of standalone Spider-Man films – Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). He also featured in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), with the exception of Endgame, Peter Parker has been given updated and advanced Spider-Man suits. These enhancements boosted his strength, helped him maintain anonymity, and provided him with extraordinary new abilities. Peter is due to receive a fresh costume in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day (scheduled for release on July 31, 2026), making it his ninth overall film appearance as Spider-Man.

9) Civilian Spider-Man Costume

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the backstory of Peter Parker’s transformation into Spider-Man hasn’t been shown yet, but we’ve caught a sneak peek at his early Spider-Man adventures. In Captain America: Civil War, Tony Stark showed a video clip of Spider-Man halting a moving vehicle while wearing a makeshift suit made from ordinary clothing and goggles. We got a clearer view of this outfit in Spider-Man: Homecoming during the climactic fight sequence, as Parker donned his standard costume to confront Michael Keaton’s character, Adrian Toomes, aka Vulture.

8) Stark-Designed Civil War & Homecoming Suit

In the heat of battle at Leipzig Airport during the Avengers’ confrontation, Tony Stark fashioned a fresh, advanced suit for Spider-Man that echoed his Marvel Comics appearance, but with a more streamlined and powerful design. This vibrant red-and-blue costume captured the youthful exuberance and playfulness of this new iteration of Spidey in the MCU seamlessly, positioning him alongside the franchise’s veteran heroes. Peter Parker wore this suit throughout Civil War, the bulk of Homecoming, and for a brief spell at the beginning of Infinity War, before receiving an upgrade of epic proportions.

7) Iron Spider Suit

As a film enthusiast, I was thrilled to see Tony Stark’s latest passion for nanotechnology unfold in the epic saga of Avengers: Infinity War. This cutting-edge technology wasn’t just reserved for his Iron Man suit; he also designed an innovative Iron Spider costume for Peter Parker, enhancing our friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Although we got a sneak peek of this suit at the end of Homecoming, it wasn’t until Infinity War that Parker officially donned it. This technological marvel enabled him to breathe while traversing Ebony Maw’s (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor) spaceship, far beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Moreover, the Iron Spider suit boasted extendable legs, empowering Peter to embody his Spider-Man identity like never before.

6) Night Monkey Suit

To dodge suspicion while collaborating with Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) yet opposing him across Europe in “Far From Home”, Peter Parker required an alternate suit compared to his usual Spider-Man attire. Fortunately, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who was secretly a Skrull, was available and provided Parker with a sleek black outfit designed for covert operations. To mask Parker’s identity, Ned (Jacob Batalon) suggested that he had taken on the alias of Night Monkey – a European variation of Spider-Man – to deceive others. Although this disguise didn’t last long, it was fascinating to witness Spider-Man adopting a more subtle look.

5) Black & Red Suit

Following the revelation that Mysterio was the mastermind behind the Elemental attacks in Europe, Peter Parker reconnected with Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) to discuss their future plans. A crucial decision involved creating a new suit, which Parker managed using Tony Stark’s tools from his jet. This fresh black-and-red Spider-Man suit made its debut, bearing a striking resemblance to the original Stark-designed costume but with darker colors to symbolize a more mature and grounded appearance, mirroring Peter’s development and shifting perspective in Far From Home.

4) Inside-Out Spider-Man Suit

In the movie “No Way Home,” Peter Parker started off in his black-and-red suit, but switched to his Iron Spider costume when he squared off against Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina). This change was due to his regular suit getting splashed with green paint by a Mysterio supporter. The Iron Spider suit got damaged, so Parker resorted to the green-painted one, but instead of wearing it right side out, he wore it inside out to fight Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Sandman (Thomas Haden Church). This made Spider-Man appear black, showing off the intricate golden wiring on the underside of his suit, a feature that was exclusive to him.

3) Nanite-Integrated No Way Home Suit

In the movie “No Way Home”, Spider-Man found himself unable to keep wearing his suit inside out, so he switched to the Iron Spider costume instead, which received an upgrade. When Doctor Octopus was healed using an inhibitor chip, he returned the nanites he had taken from the Iron Spider suit during their initial fight with Spider-Man. This modification gave the original suit a new look, featuring more gold where there once was black and a different spider emblem on the chest. During the climactic battle in “No Way Home”, Peter Parker wore this suit, but later decided to retire it in favor of something more personal.

2) Homemade Spider-Man Suit

Motivated by his battles alongside Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men, Peter Parker crafted a new Spider-Man suit of his own when he was overlooked by everyone. In his modest apartment, devoid of any fancy features, Parker sewed a blue-and-red Spider-Man outfit that mirrored his appearance in the Marvel Comics more accurately. During the Holidays, Parker wore this costume to traverse New York City, but it appears that this suit will be replaced in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the cause behind this change remains unclear for now.

1) Spider-Man: Brand New Day Comic-Accurate Suit

On August 2, 2025, Tom Holland, Sony, and Marvel unveiled a sneak peek of Peter Parker’s revamped suit before the release of Spider-Man: Fresh Start. Behind-the-scenes photos from the sequel’s filming provided closer views of the new costume, sporting a deeper shade of blue compared to the final suit in No Way Home, and showcasing a more authentic spider emblem on the torso. This updated suit represents the most accurate portrayal of the Marvel Comics design within the MCU thus far, generating anticipation for Fresh Start; however, it remains undisclosed why Spider-Man adopts this new outfit in the storyline.
