If you played games in the 90s, then you’ll remember Acclaim.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t forget that unique publisher’s logo – a vibrant rainbow emblem that graced the screens before countless iconic games. From NBA Jam to Mortal Kombat, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, and an endless list of other favorites, it was always a thrill to see that symbol signifying hours of gaming fun ahead.
Following the declaration of bankruptcy in 2004, the publishing company has since been revived and is now planning to live-stream on the 10th of September starting at 11:30 AM Pacific Time, in order to unveil its fresh lineup.

It appears that Acclaim’s new ventures remain somewhat mysterious, but they seem to be revolving around reprising titles similar to those published by them in the past. This suggests that we can anticipate arcade sports games and thrilling 16-bit adventures, with a few of these projects even being hinted at in the trailer linked above.
In a press statement, the newly appointed Acclaim CEO, Alex Josef, stated, “We’re not about chasing phantoms; rather, we aim to harness the energy and turbulence that made Acclaim iconic and transform it into something fresh. The old structures are showing signs of wear, and what emerges is something thrilling and unique.
The teaser trailer’s blurb adds:
In the blink of an eye, you could pass it by. Nestled amidst the static, shining through the radiance of old CRT screens, are titles that will pave the way for an exhilarating new era at Acclaim. This isn’t merely a longing for the past. It’s something more: a unique blend of retro-future nostalgia, respectfully acknowledging and embodying the distinctive essence and history of the brand while venturing confidently into the unknown future.
Indeed, we’ve enjoyed numerous titles from Acclaim in the past, and we’re eagerly anticipating their latest creations. Needless to say, we’ll be tuning into the live stream with great interest.
