Two additional stars are set to join the lineup for “Avengers: Secret Wars“, bringing the total number of cast members to 15 at this point. With its release, “Avengers: Secret Wars” is poised to become Marvel Studios’ most monumental production ever and serve as a direct follow-up to the 2026 film “Avengers: Doomsday“. Given its status, it’s anticipated that this Avengers installment will boast the largest ensemble in the franchise’s history. However, only a handful of actors have been officially confirmed so far.
Ryan and Daniel Omoto have officially been added to the cast of “Avengers: Doomsday”. Previously, it was known that just 13 actors would be appearing in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Now, with the addition of the brothers, it has been confirmed that “Secret Wars” will initially feature a total of 15 actors.
In a recent Instagram post, the Omotos’ podcast titled “Just the Nobodys” featured a conversation with director Joe Russo of “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars“. The brothers playfully inquired if they could secure roles in both films should they get an ink tattoo representing his entertainment company, AGBO, which he co-founded.
Joe Russo fulfilled Ryan and Daniel’s desire by verifying that they will appear in both forthcoming movies. Yet, he kept secret the characters they will depict, hinting that he already knows who they represent.
Consequently, the Omotos are set to become part of Earth’s most powerful team of heroes, sharing the screen with 13 major Marvel Cinematic Universe personalities.
Every Confirmed Actor in Avengers: Secret Wars
Robert Downey Jr. – Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom
It’s hard to forget the moment when Robert Downey Jr., wearing a Doctor Doom mask, made his entrance on stage – a reveal that stands out in the annals of Comic-Con history. The return of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s leading actor as the main antagonist for the Multiverse Saga was undeniably one of the most significant events that Marvel Studios has ever been involved with.
With the reveal that Downey Jr. would assume the role of Doctor Doom in not just one but two upcoming Avengers movies – “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” – it’s clear that his character will follow a significant narrative arc similar to Thanos in “Infinity War” and “Endgame”. In these films, Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Doctor Doom is expected to be the primary adversary that Earth’s most powerful heroes must confront.
Anthony Mackie – Sam Wilson/Captain America
In “Avengers: Endgame”, Anthony Mackie’s character, Sam Wilson, took over the Captain America mantle and has been seen in significant projects since then, such as “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “Captain America: Brave New World”. The actor has now confirmed that he will reprise his role as Sam Wilson in the upcoming project, “Secret Wars”.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Captain America, portrayed by Anthony Mackie, has been a fundamental part of the Avengers from the start. Therefore, it’s likely that fans will see him play a significant role in the upcoming film “Secret Wars“. However, based on certain conversations in “Thunderbolts*“, there might be tension between Mackie’s Captain America and one of the main characters in “Secret Wars“, which could influence the dynamics among the team during the movie.
*Note: The correct title for the upcoming Marvel film featuring Anthony Mackie as Falcon/Captain America is “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier“. The film mentioned seems to be a mix of two different titles, namely “Thunderbolts“, a team composed of villains in the comics, and “Secret Wars“, an upcoming MCU film.
Benedict Cumberbatch – Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange
In January 2025, Benedict Cumberbatch caused quite a stir when he disclosed that his Marvel Cinematic Universe character, Doctor Strange, would have a significant part in the film “Avengers: Secret Wars” and would feature prominently throughout the movie. Additionally, he hinted that Doctor Strange would be pivotal to the storyline of “Secret Wars”.
There’s no doubt about it – Doctor Strange is known for his immense power among Marvel Cinematic Universe’s lineup of heroes. In the upcoming sixth Avengers film, we can expect him to showcase this power as the Avengers prepare to battle against Doctor Doom.
Pedro Pascal – Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic
At the very same Comic-Con event where it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would reprise his role as Doctor Doom within the MCU, it was simultaneously made official that Pedro Pascal will appear in “Avengers: Secret Wars” as Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards).
In the upcoming film “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“, we’ll see Pascal for the first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since his character is yet unknown to fans, it’s safe to say that we don’t know much about him at this point. However, given that he leads the Fantastic Four, who are mortal enemies of Doctor Doom, it seems probable that Pascal will have a significant role in “Secret Wars“.
Vanessa Kirby – Sue Storm/Invisible Woman
Similar to Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby is set to feature in “Avengers: Secret Wars” as well, returning to her character from “Fantastic Four” – Sue Storm, more famously recognized as the Invisible Woman.
In the original text, Sue and Victor Von Doom share a complex bond, causing excitement among fans as they ponder how Sue might be integrated into the storyline of “Secret Wars” and how she’ll engage with Doom.
Fans are looking forward to understanding how Sue will fit within the narrative of “Secret Wars” and how her interactions with Victor Von Doom will unfold, given their complex relationship.
Joseph Quinn – Johnny Storm/Human Torch
It’s no wonder that Joseph Quinn has been confirmed for Avengers: Secret Wars, given his membership in the Fantastic Four. After all, other members from that team are set to appear in the forthcoming movie too.
I’m thrilled to take on the role of Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch, in the upcoming movie Secret Wars. This could lead to some intriguing interactions between me and Doctor Doom, particularly if his relationship with Sue Storm unfolds in an engaging way. Regardless, viewers can anticipate seeing me prominently throughout the film on-screen.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach – Ben Grimm/Thing
When it was announced that the actors playing the Fantastic Four were set for Avengers: Secret Wars, Ebon Moss-Bachrach was among them, marking his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On July 25, 2025, he will be seen as Ben Grimm (the Thing) in The Fantastic Four, making his debut as the muscular member of Marvel’s original superhero family.
It is anticipated that Moss-Bachrach’s character in Secret Wars will follow a pattern similar to the roles of other Fantastic Four members. Spectators can look forward to witnessing him engage in multiple confrontations, yet his primary focus will primarily be on defeating Doctor Doom.
Sebastian Stan – Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier
At the San Diego Comic-Con 2024, it wasn’t just the Fantastic Four who were confirmed for Avengers: Secret Wars, but also the Thunderbolts, whose significant parts in the movie were revealed alongside them.
Given that the team is now known as the New Avengers (or New Avengerz if you prefer David Harbour’s Red Guardian), it comes as no surprise that they will leave their imprint on the upcoming film. Notably, Bucky is set to play a unique part in this movie, given his previous involvement with the Avengers.
Florence Pugh – Yelena Belova
It’s quite probable that Florence Pugh’s character Yelena Belova, a key figure in the Thunderbolts team, will have a significant part to play in Avengers: Secret Wars. With Natasha Romanoff currently absent, some characters who were acquainted with Natasha might find themselves sharing poignant moments with Yelena.
It’s likely that Yelena will appear mainly with her fellow teammates, but there might also be instances where she stars individually.
Wyatt Russell – John Walker/U.S. Agent
In the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment, “Avengers: Secret Wars,” Wyatt Russell is set to reappear. Previously, he played a significant character in the film titled “Thunderbolts*“. Given that other members of this team are anticipated to have substantial roles in “Secret Wars“, it’s only natural that John Walker will be there as well.
Although the happenings in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” may lead to disagreements between John Walker and Sam Wilson, it’s likely they’ll still find themselves on the same team when it comes to battling.
Hannah John-Kamen – Ava Starr/Ghost
As a movie enthusiast, I must admit that I was taken aback when I saw Hannah John-Kamen take on such a significant part in Thunderbolts* as Ghost. Yet, the anticipation for her character’s influence only intensifies with her upcoming appearance in Avengers: Secret Wars.
If Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, manages to make it through the occurrences in “Avengers: Doomsday”, there’s a chance he could reconnect with Ghost in “Secret Wars” (assuming they don’t cross paths in “Doomsday”). Nevertheless, Ghost is expected to spend most of her on-screen time battling alongside other Thunderbolts in the movie.
David Harbour – Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian
In the self-titled movie of the Thunderbolts, David Harbour became a member, implying he will reappear in “Avengers: Secret Wars”. Among all team members, Red Guardian appears to be the most replaceable, and his potential demise might lead to an emotional sequence with Yelena Belova. Therefore, it’s plausible that David Harbour’s character may meet his end in the forthcoming title.
Hayley Atwell – Peggy Carter
Among all the actors confirmed for the film “Avengers: Secret Wars,” it’s Hayley Atwell who stands out as the most unexpected. Her role as Peggy Carter has been confirmed not just for “Secret Wars,” but also for “Doomsday.” Interestingly, her agent revealed that she signed contracts for both movies.
Although Atwell might not have a significant role in “Secret Wars”, she’s expected to show up. This could hint that Chris Evans, who has previously denied being part of the “Doomsday” or “Secret Wars” cast, may make a brief appearance in the movie instead.
Ryan Omoto – Unnamed Role
According to co-director Joe Russo, it was recently announced that Ryan Omoto will be appearing in the upcoming movie “Avengers: Secret Wars,” but the specifics of his role have yet to be disclosed.
Daniel Omoto – Unnamed Role
In the Marvel movie “Avengers: Secret Wars”, it was Joe Russo who also brought on board Ryan’s sibling, Daniel Omoto. Similar to Ryan, the nature of Daniel’s character in the film remains undisclosed and shrouded in secrecy.
