Throughout its existence, Stardew Valley has been consistently updated for free by its developer. The most recent update, the substantial 1.6, introduced a wealth of new content without any cost. After this update was released on consoles, developer Eric Barone (also known as ConcernedApe) mentioned that he would be focusing on his next project, Haunted Chocolatier. At that point, he expressed uncertainty about the possibility of further large updates for Stardew Valley. However, it seems that plans may have shifted since then.
On August 30th, Barone shared on X that the upcoming leg of the Stardew Valley concert tour was commencing. Fans might not have realized it then, but this post could have been hinting at even more exciting news to come. Recently, a TikTok video has surfaced which seems to depict Barone performing at the Symphony of Seasons concert. Although it’s somewhat unclear, it appears he may have announced another update for Stardew Valley.
Stardew Valley Updates Aren’t Done Yet
After being first shared on TikTok, the video by user @jillbobagginz has been gaining popularity among cozy gamers. Before the Symphony of Seasons concert started, Barone appeared on stage to deliver some remarks. If our assumptions are correct, some of those remarks hint at another update following Stardew Valley 1.6.

It seems from the recording that Barone is hinting at a fresh update for Stardew Valley, which comes as surprising news considering his past remarks about potential free content being uncertain. The enthusiasm in the crowd’s response suggests this news is indeed significant. With fans eagerly waiting for new Stardew content, it looks like Barone might be preparing to deliver just that.
In the video, Barone announces, “I’d like to reveal something special tonight, it’s somewhat of a surprise.” He then discloses an upcoming development, saying, “There will be another update coming.” Needless to say, the enthusiastic attendees at the live event were unable to maintain the secrecy surrounding such significant news for dedicated gamers.
It’s worth mentioning that Barone hasn’t confirmed this news through his social media or the Stardew Valley website as of yet. However, the video seems authentic so far. Until he provides further verification, it’s not entirely certain. Nevertheless, Stardew Valley fans might have another exciting project to anticipate beyond Haunted Chocolatier.
Currently, we’re not certain about the upcoming update for Stardew Valley, but Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has hinted that he intends to release one. At this point, it’s unknown if he’s already started working on it. As a result, the schedule for future free content for Stardew Valley is still uncertain. We await further information from Mr. Barone himself to clarify the situation. Additionally, we don’t know what the new update might include or if it will be as extensive as the 1.6 update. Fingers crossed that Barone provides more details soon if he indeed has plans for additional Stardew Valley content in the near future.
