Bungie has yet to comment on Marathon since the latest controversy and delay, with even Sony uncertain about its release within this financial year. However, work continues, as invitations have been sent out for the third round of closed testing and a 30-day user research study.
Option A spans from September 3rd to 5th and is an exclusive event. The alternative event takes place from September 8th to October 7th. For weekdays in this second option, participants need to play one hour daily between 3 PM and 7 PM PST, while on weekends, they should dedicate two hours between 2 PM and 8 PM PST. Daily and weekly surveys are included, and upon completion of the study, each participant will receive a $500 gift card. Any shortage in playtime will be compensated appropriately.
According to leaked images from the latest alpha version, developer Bungie has enhanced both the visuals and gameplay of Marathon. They’re planning to reveal a new launch date this autumn, but due to the nature of development, the date might shift; keep an eye out for updates!
The new version of “Marathon” is currently being created for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. Unlike the original “Marathon” trilogy, this game is a multiplayer extraction shooter in which players assume the role of Runners who are competing to acquire remaining resources on Tau Ceti IV.
