Hideo Kojima Announces Event to Discuss His Next Games

Kojima Productions, led by Hideo Kojima, recently announced an upcoming event where they’ll share insights into their future plans as a company. Exactly ten years ago, the highly-acclaimed game “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” was released, marking the last collaboration between Kojima and Konami, as well as the conclusion of the acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series at that time. Although it’s possible that there may be future Metal Gear Solid games, they are expected to represent a fresh approach to the franchise.

Following his departure from Konami, Kojima teamed up with PlayStation to establish his new studio and launch the Death Stranding series. Now, Kojima is currently working on several projects.

Hideo Kojima has made it clear that he isn’t planning to create Death Stranding 3 personally, but he does have ideas for it that he’d be okay with someone else realizing. Instead, he’s been working on fresh concepts like his mysterious horror game OD and his PS6 follow-up to Metal Gear Solid, Physint. Unfortunately, details about both games are scarce, although OD may be ready for release sooner than expected since it was being developed alongside Death Stranding 2.

Hideo Kojima to Detail New Projects at Upcoming Event

At an upcoming event named “Beyond the Strand”, which Hideo Kojima is hosting personally, fans can expect updates about the future of these games and additional insights. The event is scheduled in Tokyo on September 23rd, preceding Tokyo Game Show by a few days. Fans residing nearby can purchase tickets for an in-person experience, while those far away will have the option to stream it live.

The upcoming 3.5-hour event features notable guests and promises a sneak peek at upcoming ventures. However, it’s uncertain if there will be any revelations about ‘Physint’, as Kojima has mentioned he is currently in the developmental phase for this project and is working on it independently. While we might catch some broad outlines, it’s best not to expect too much.

Additionally, we can look forward to gaining more insights on the upcoming Death Stranding films. At present, details are scarce, but one is set to be live-action while another will be animated. Regardless, there’s plenty to speculate and the upcoming developments from Kojima Productions this month promise an intriguing future.
