The beloved series, The Great British Bake Off, returns to our screens imminently, offering comforting television entertainment for all.
On the evening of September 2nd, twelve novice bakers will enter the tent for the very first time, ready to face a variety of tests. To start things off, it’s Cake Week!
Among them is Pui Man, who tirelessly perfects her baking skills to ensure her creations come as close to perfection as they can. Pui Man is also hoping for the first-ever Hollywood embrace instead of the usual Hollywood handshake that the judge typically gives during the competition.

51-year-old Pui Man hails from Essex and has a unique talent for designing wedding gowns. This skill is reflected in every confection she creates.
During the lockdown, she rekindled her passion for baking and hasn’t stopped since then, as her baked goods are not only visually striking but also daring. Apart from her dedication to baking, Pui Man spends three evenings a week volunteering, gathering excess food from supermarkets and redistributing it within her community.
The wedding dress creator had long harbored a dream of stepping into that tent and encountering ex-bakers. Catching her at home, the unexpected phone call left her taken aback, as she’d unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry on no less than four previous occasions.

For Pui Man, she excels at almost everything she’s familiar with and has mastered, yet acknowledges that her flaws stem from her high standards, frequently feeling annoyed when things don’t meet her ideal level of perfection.
The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 on Tuesday 2nd September at 8pm.
