Elliot Page Debuts Romance With Overcompensating Star Julia Shiplett

Elliot Page is celebrating Pride month in a big way.

As a connoisseur of lifestyle trends, I am delighted to share that the esteemed actor, who was recently nominated for an Oscar, has publicly confirmed his blossoming relationship with Julia Shiplett, star of “Overcompensating.” On June 28th, he tenderly posted a heartwarming snapshot of the two on social media, signaling their growing bond to the world.

On Elliot’s Instagram, a photo was shared where he, aged 38, beamed broadly and leaned over Julia’s shoulder as she took a selfie. Both of them were 38 and standing on a road paved with rainbows. The image seemed to convey its own message, with Elliot using only a rainbow and two heart emojis for the caption.

Previously, Julia (the actress portraying Mimi in the Prime Video series) posted on her social media a snapshot of the shirtless star from The Umbrella Academy unwinding in a hot spring. She added an emoji representing a sigh and another symbolizing water droplets to her Instagram Stories post, along with the caption “Happy prideee.” (This can be rephrased as “Julia, playing Mimi on Prime Video, recently posted a picture on social media of The Umbrella Academy’s shirtless actor enjoying a hot spring. She used an emoticon for sighing and water droplets, along with the caption “Happy prideee.”)

In 2020, Elliot openly identified as transgender, and in his 2023 memoir titled “Pageboy”, he discussed his past relationships, including those with Kate Mara and Olivia Thirlby, which he had previously spoken about candidly. The book also revealed a private romance he once had with an unnamed celebrity, whose sexuality was not public knowledge at the time.

In our two-year long relationship, it was unusual that my partner kept her relationship status more private than me. In fact, many of my closest friends didn’t know we were together, and neither did her parents.” (Elliot wrote)

Speaking about the star known as Juno, who tied the knot with Emma Portner in 2018 but divorced in 2021, he opened up on the strategies they employed to maintain their relationship away from public scrutiny, eventually deciding to part ways.

He went on to say, “That relationship wasn’t lasting, much like keeping secrets about people. People might not have suspected her sexuality, but they definitely assumed mine, and I believe she couldn’t bear the embarrassment. In the end, she had to make choices that were right for her, which unfortunately left my heart in pieces.

It appears Elliot has been more successful in his romantic endeavors post-transition, as he expressed to the Los Angeles Times in June 2023 that he is enjoying “the best dating experience I’ve ever had.

He mentioned that connecting with others seems smoother and more genuine because he no longer experiences self-doubt or feels misunderstood.
