As a devoted Magic: The Gathering enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve been blessed with some fantastic crossovers and collaborations lately. And if you’re a Marvel fan like me, there’s even more excitement in store! Earlier this year, Wizards of the Coast gave us a sneak peek at the forthcoming Magic: The Gathering x Marvel Spider-Man cards. This highly anticipated comic crossover is set to hit stores on September 26th. But today, I’m privileged to reveal a special preview of four never-before-seen cards from this amazing collection.
Up until now, we’ve only had a glimpse of several cards from the Marvel’s Spider-Man expansion for Magic: The Gathering. However, I am thrilled to unveil, exclusively today, four fresh card designs depicting Spider-Man and some famous allies and adversaries. Fans of both the original comics and the film adaptations since Tobey Maguire’s time should find much to appreciate in these designs.
Wedding Ring (Artifact)

The opening card showcases Spider-Man and Mary Jane, getting married amidst a variety of Marvel personalities – both villains such as Doctor Octopus, along with other heroes prepared to safeguard during Peter’s special wedding day.
The Wedding Ring card requires two White Mana to be played. Once it’s been cast, it compels your opposing player to create a copy token. From then on, every time they draw a card, you too will draw a card, as long as they continue to control the Wedding Ring token. And whenever they gain life, you will also receive an equivalent amount of life.
Traumatize (Sorcery)

Alright, here’s my take on paraphrasing the given text from a gamer’s perspective:
Next round, I’m up against none other than Mysterio in this epic gaming battle! Just like in the comics, he’s pulling off his signature shenanigans, putting Spidey in a tight corner. The card design is a nostalgic throwback to comics art, and it seems like Mysterio has definitely got one over on our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man this time!
Utilizing the “Traumatize Sorcery” card necessitates having 3 Mana, with at least 2 of those being of the Blue color. When played on another player, this card compels them to draw and discard half of their deck (rounded down if not a whole number).
Goblin Bombardment (Enchantment)

Moving forward, we have the character famously portrayed by Willem Dafoe in the 2002 Spider-Man film trilogy – none other than the Green Goblin. The Green Goblin card, specifically the Goblin Bombardment, depicts him soaring on his glider, executing a spectacular attack against our hero.
This card, called Enchantment, needs one unit of Red Mana to activate. Upon use, you’ll need to sacrifice one creature to inflict 1 point of damage on any target. In a suitable situation, it could promptly remind you of Dafoe’s Gobby with a quote such as “You know how much I sacrificed?”, but the potential benefits might make it worthwhile.
Unexpected Windfall (Instant)

Lastly, there’s another card showcasing Peter and MJ together, this time without the Spider-Man suit. In this comic book allusion, Mary Jane uses her traditional pet name for Peter, making it a highly rewarding find for the game enthusiasts.
As a game enthusiast, I’m excited about The Unexpected Windfall card! This beauty costs 2 Red Mana, but In return, you’ll be rewarded with two fresh new cards drawn right into your deck. Plus, you’ll also generate a pair of Treasure tokens. Not too shabby, huh?
On September 26th, a new collection combining “Magic: The Gathering” and Marvel’s Spider-Man will be launched. You can reserve your copy ahead of time directly on the “Magic: The Gathering” website.
