The Great British Sewing Bee 2025 final air date confirmed as winner set to be unveiled

In a couple of weeks, the exciting finale of The Great British Sewing Bee will take place, revealing who the victor of this warm-hearted show is.

On Tuesday, 16th September, at 9pm, BBC One and iPlayer will broadcast the grand finale, where Patrick Grant and Esme Young will unveil the winner of Britain’s top amateur sewing competition.

In the final round, the three finalists will be put to the test once more, showcasing their skills. Initially, they’ll design a bias cut slip dress, which despite its simplicity, proves challenging. Later, they’ll face the Transformation Challenge, where they’ll need to showcase their creativity by crafting outfits from see-through fabric.

Lastly, the sewers should master the technique of trompe l’oeil, creating visual illusions using fabrics to tailor clothes for their selected friend or relative.

In discussing the matter of arranging for someone to leave, Grant pointed out, “I face two challenges: first, deciding on a sequence that makes sense to me, and second, aligning this with Esme’s preferred order. The latter is less daunting since we generally think along similar lines.

He went on to say, “Sometimes it’s challenging for me to pick which two items I prefer, as they are usually both technically sound, exceptionally creative. In the end, it boils down to a matter of instinct.

“How does this piece of clothing affect my emotions? Is my mood improved more by this one than the other one? And at the end of the day, it often comes down to personal feelings about its appearance and the designer’s creativity. There are clear technical aspects to consider, but sometimes you just have to trust your instincts.
