Christine Brown is weighing in on a longtime theory about her family’s move to Arizona.
Seven years following Kody Brown’s move from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona with his wives Christine, Meri, Janelle, Robyn, and many of their children, it was Christine who offered insights into the reasons behind this relocation.
A little over a month since our move in 2018, it was discovered that Dayton, the son of Robyn and Kody, had been accepted into the university in Flagstaff. This revelation enraged me. Was it the reason we moved, so Robyn could be nearer to her son while I found myself increasingly distant from mine?
Even though Christine, who has children Asypen (aged 30), Mykelti (29), Paedon (27), Gwendlyn (23), Ysabel (22), and Truely (15) together with Kody, initially disagreed with the idea of moving, she eventually agreed to it.
She shared that she felt incredibly upset, but she didn’t want to separate the children from their friends and schools. As a family, she wanted to work together, so despite thinking it was absurd, she decided to approach the situation with an open mind. So, why in the world would they move their family again?
According to Christine, who ended her multi-spousal union with Kody in 2021, she envisioned that this change might foster a more harmonious relationship between them both.
She wrote, “I believed Kody might come to understand what he had left behind,” hinting at their lengthy relationship with Robyn. “Perhaps after so many years, the luster of their bond may have faded enough for him to recall his other family ties once more.
Initially, Kody intended to construct a multi-family estate on a 14-acre property known as Coyote Pass, which would accommodate himself, Christine, Robyn, Meri, Janelle, and their combined 18 children. Regrettably, the family never proceeded with the development of this land, and it was eventually sold during the first part of this year.
After the relocation, the Brown family’s dynamics have undergone a significant shift. Following his split with Christine, Kody’s unions with Meri and Janelle dissolved, making him married exclusively to Robyn and residing in Flagstaff. On the other hand, Christine got married to David Woolley in 2023 and now lives in Utah.
In her memoir, Christine expressed regret about opportunities missed or outcomes that could have been different, reflecting on the challenging times portrayed in the movie.
In the book, she confessed that we had appeared on television because we believed our family was unique and I desired for us to regain that distinctiveness. To me, it seemed attainable with Coyote Pass.
