Taylor Swift Not Attending MTV VMAs 2025

The life of a showgirl sometimes means having to miss an award ceremony or two.

On October 3, Taylor Swift plans to unveil her upcoming album titled “The Life of a Showgirl,” and as such, she has decided not to attend the MTV Video Music Awards scheduled for this coming Sunday, September 7. This news has been confirmed by TopMob News.

Although Taylor is nominated for Artist of the Year alongside Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, and The Weeknd, she won’t be present at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York to find out who will win the Moon Person trophy.

Hey there! Don’t even think about challenging Taylor’s throne, alright? She’s already on the verge of becoming the ultimate VMAs champion, and if she snags that title this year, she’ll officially be the most honored artist since the very first ceremony back in 1984. Right now, she’s neck and neck with Beyoncé, both holding a whopping 30 awards, but I’ve got a feeling Taylor’s about to make some serious history!

Despite not being able to witness the major event unfold personally, it’s a hectic period for Taylor as her family has a lot going on. Remarkably, Travis Kelce, Taylor’s fiancé who got engaged last month, will be starting off the NFL season tonight, September 5, with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil.

In 2025, the VMAs ceremony will mark Taylor’s first absence since 2021. Over the past few years, she has had some significant moments at this event. Last year, while accepting her Video of the Year award for “Fortnight” with Post Malone, Taylor publicly acknowledged Travis as her boyfriend for the first time.

Last year, during her award acceptance speech, Taylor explained that although the video appeared quite sad when watched, it was in fact incredibly enjoyable to produce. She added that behind the scenes, there were continuous cheers of excitement, such as “Whoo!” resonating from different corners of the studio between takes.

To uproarious applause, Taylor confirmed, “That one person was my boyfriend, Travis.”

In 2022, Taylor commenced her customary grand album unveilings by inaugurating the “Midnights” era as she received the same accolade for “All Too Well: The Short Film.”

In 2022, Taylor marked the beginning of her special album rollouts with the initiation of the “Midnights” phase while receiving an award for “All Too Well: The Short Film.”

And a more conversational way to put it:

Back in 2022, Taylor Swift chose the stage for accepting her award for “All Too Well: The Short Film” to launch the “Midnights” era of her grand album traditions.

During the award ceremony prior to releasing her album, she shared with her fans, ‘Since your generosity has been overwhelming, I thought it would be an enjoyable moment to share some news with you.’

It’s hard not to recall the time when Rage Against the Machine bassist, Tim Commerford, made headlines after his outburst at the band losing an award to Limp Bizkit. He didn’t hold back his displeasure, storming the stage and climbing a display tower. Although his TV appearance was brief, due to the network switching to a commercial break, in actuality, Tim’s evening was far from over. Unfortunately for him, he was taken into custody and spent the night behind bars.

As a connoisseur of unique lifestyles, let me share an intriguing incident I recently encountered: I found myself in the spotlight, making a grand entrance as none other than Fartman, the unconventional superhero alter-ego of a notorious radio personality. Quite the spectacle, wasn’t it?

During one of the most well-known rock music conflicts, these two individuals were at odds. Backstage during the 1992 VMAs, tension rose as Courtney Love, Cobain’s wife and mother to their daughter Frances Bean, antagonized Rose. This resulted in Axl Rose threatening to physically assault Cobain if he didn’t quiet down his “woman.” In response, Kurt Cobain playfully retorted, “Quiet down, woman!” to Courtney Love in a sarcastic manner.

Towards the conclusion of his extensive Video Vanguard acceptance speech, the rapper memorably disclosed his intention to contest for presidency in 2020.

During the presentation of the 2016 Video Vanguard Award, the rapper made headlines by publicly declaring his longstanding love for the songstress. Addressing the audience, he shared, “I’ve been in love with her since I was 22 years old.

Following Camila Cabello’s departure, the girl group created quite a stir by starting their performance with an illusion of a fifth member seemingly tumbling off the stage.
