Window sizes can get funny when gaming, so I use the handy app Borderless Gaming.
This handy application by AndrewMF5 enforces your PC border laws to the extreme!
But why should you download it, and what does it exactly do to make gaming better?
Borderless Gaming
Initially, you can obtain this software for free from Steam. However, the premium dark mode feature requires payment if it’s important to you.
In addition, if you ask a PC gamer, they would likely agree that borderless settings can be frustrating. An application called Borderless Gaming allows you to compel other programs to operate in borderless mode instead.

Applications are designed to operate within individual window frames, which is the reason they’re often referred to as “Windows” on a personal computer. Essentially, when you launch an application, you create a virtual window. But, determining how these windows adjust according to resolution and size can sometimes be complex.
Originally, when games were launched, they defaulted to a 4:3 full-screen mode. This meant that the game would be prioritized over other applications and resize to fit your screen perfectly. However, this full-screen mode caused problems when we started using multiple monitors, as the computer could only focus on one application at a time.
Due to this abrupt shift of attention towards the PC, it tends to freeze, stutter, or even crash on occasions!
While there’s an option to minimize the game into a small, windowed mode that supposedly addresses this problem, it significantly limits our ability to use the entire screen and other applications simultaneously. Furthermore, running the game in a windowed mode instead of full-screen can negatively impact performance.

Instead of using “Borderless Fullscreen,” consider saying “Borderless Gaming Mode.” This innovation exceeds other options because it offers the same high-performance gaming experience found in fullscreen mode, spans across the entire screen for an immersive experience, and enables seamless multitasking without any interruptions or lags.
While many games offer top-tier performance, a significant number lack satisfactory borderless display settings. Additionally, numerous classic titles lack this feature entirely, consistently mandating fullscreen play.
Gaming Without Borders
As a devoted gamer, I’ve discovered an amazing tool called Borderless Gaming that allows me to break free from the traditional game window constraints. With this fantastic app, I can effortlessly run a multitude of contemporary and classic games in a borderless format, enhancing my gaming experience significantly!
Instead of launching the software via Steam, let’s instead create a shortcut of the .exe file on your taskbar. Although it may appear unusual, this method has proven effective for me, especially when I need to quickly locate the application.

Prior to launching, let’s locate the desired game and then adjust it to run in a windowed format. Aim for setting the window size as near to your preferred resolution as possible.
From this point, let’s navigate to Borderless Gaming and tap the three vertical dots on its game icon. A menu will appear giving you two options: to set it as borderless or to create a new profile.

Even though the borderless mode without borders works occasionally, it’s generally recommended to choose the ‘Profile’ option instead. This way, you can access a wider range of customized options, which are stored separately on their own profile.

In the following panel, you can adjust the monitor settings, including the background and deadzone size. For older games, make sure to check the box that says ‘Preserve Client Area Size’. This feature helps minimize the likelihood of these games crashing when they are set to borderless.
While it’s effective across numerous games, it may not function with some unique, older ones. However, it proves beneficial for many and is definitely worth testing given its zero cost.
Adjust the window size to either 1080p or 2k, then remove the borders using the software settings for a seamless viewing experience.
