In this updated version, Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode makes its comeback with five distinct levels to conquer. By successfully finishing tasks designed to test your abilities, you’ll advance through these levels. The ultimate goal is the Weekly Wildcard Mission. Additionally, Contracts are introduced – these are missions that reward Eridium, which can be used to respecialize into new Specializations instead of Guardian Ranks, offering minor stat upgrades.
As you advance through the Specializations, you’ll unlock additional passive abilities that will make you even more formidable. One of these is called “Bullets Shy Away from Me,” which increases your damage resistance based on how much your shield or health is filled up. The Firmware stands out due to its set bonuses, but keep in mind that these are only applicable to your equipment pieces.
Progressing through the levels of Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode offers additional perks, providing even more opportunities to fine-tune your character’s abilities. The upcoming Borderlands 4 game is set for release on September 12th across Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. For Nintendo Switch users, the game will be available starting October 3rd.
