You can bet you haven’t seen the last of Huntr/x.
Three months following the release of “KPOP Demon Hunters” on Netflix, which subsequently gained massive online popularity, stars EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami hinted at the potential for a sequel during the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.
EJAE playfully said to TopMob News during an exclusive interview outside UBS Arena on September 7, ‘Stay tuned!’ He added with a hint of mystery, ‘You’ll see!’
Audrey, for her part, added, “We’re waiting as well for the call.”
Rei made clear that they haven’t received any news yet, mentioning, “Once we do, we’ll be sure to share it with you.” (Take a look at every celebrity on the VMAs red carpet.)
Indeed, the three vocalists acknowledge they’re adjusting to the limelight following the extraordinary success of the initial movie on Netflix. Considering it swiftly climbed to become the streaming service’s most-viewed film, amassing a staggering 236 million views across the platform.
Rei commented on the movie’s achievements, saying everyone is still trying to wrap their heads around it. Each day brings a fresh accomplishment or record broken. Grateful and humbled we are, but honestly, it’s been a struggle to fully comprehend this turn of events,”.
It’s true that Audrey acknowledged that their lives have become significantly more hectic due to the success of the Netflix movie, which features actors like Liza Koshy, Ken Jeong, and Daniel Dae Kim.
Audrey shared that things have been quite busy lately, with little spare time for relaxation. It’s been rather overwhelming, even insanely so. Apparently, she’s been asked by many family members to sign various documents on behalf of their colleagues.
Rei agreed, adding, “Family is going crazy in Korea, it’s insane.”
In a rather exciting turn of events, despite the significant change, the actors were thrilled for audiences to catch glimpses of their real selves in their VMAs outfits. Notably, Audrey took it a step further by embodying her character Mira, donning a coat similar to a key scene in the film where she exhibited her unique coolness by wearing a sleeping bag at the Met Gala.
In addition, Audrey accessorized her style with a classic Korean headpiece called a Binyeo, expressing that these aspects were her preferred elements of her appearance. Moreover, she mentioned that it was fortunate to witness the real-life looks of the characters from the series “KPop Demon Hunters.
