Sabrina Carpenter Is Definition of Taste in Lace Look at VMAs 2025

Sabrina Carpenter left quite an impression tonight.

At the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on September 7, the artist famous for singing “Please Please Please” captivated with a striking, transparent red ensemble as she made her entrance.

At UBS Arena in New York, Sabrina drew attention as she strutted down the red carpet wearing a custom-made transparent Valentino lace gown of deep crimson hue, accompanied by a soft pink feather boa wrapped around her arms. To finish off her stylish outfit, she styled her blonde hair in tumbling curls and went with her preferred radiant makeup style. (Check out all the celebrities attending the 2025 VMAs here.)

The “Espresso” singer felt particularly thrilled because she had been nominated in eight categories, such as Video of the Year for “Manchild,” Best Pop Artist, and Best Album for “Short n’ Sweet.

One week following the release of her newest album titled “Man’s Best Friend,” Sabrina will make an appearance, which includes a performance scheduled for the evening. Similar to her vintage Hollywood-inspired attire at the VMAs, her latest project draws inspiration from the ’60s and has been categorized as funk-pop.

She expressed during her September 4 interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe that she finds art from that specific era incredibly inspiring. What truly captivates her is the music, chords, and instruments from that time, particularly those with a slight softness and fuzziness. These elements have always struck a chord with her.

Despite maintaining a deep affection for her 2024 album, which earned her the title of Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2025 Grammys, she found an opportunity to express her more sensual self through the release of “Man’s Best Friend”.

Sabrina shared with Interview Magazine last month that she often ponders, “Why must this be considered taboo?” She was referring to the deeply personal experiences of women, particularly embracing self-acceptance and identity. She expressed gratitude for her audience who truly know her, as they will appreciate her songs in their intended sense. She acknowledged that interpretations can vary, and she understands this.
