VMAs: Jack Osbourne’s 4 Kids Help Honor “Papa” Ozzy Osbourne in Video

Ozzy Osbourne’s loved ones are weighing in on his latest tribute.

2025 saw a tribute to the late Prince of Darkness, who passed away at 76 on July 22, during the MTV Video Music Awards held on September 7. The tribute performance was given by members of Aerosmith, specifically Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, along with Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt.

Prior to the popular medley performance at the UBS Arena in New York City, Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne, along with his daughters Pearl (age 13), Andy (age 10), Minnie (age 7), and Maple (age 3), expressed their feelings in a heartwarming introductory video.

Jack expressed, while seated beside his daughters, “It’s a pity we can’t be there with you tonight, celebrating my dad’s incredible musical odyssey. I truly believe that he would be overjoyed to witness these talented musicians continuing his legacy and motivating the upcoming rock stars.

In addition to thanking the tribute’s performers, he added, “We love you, dad.”

At the end of the video, Ozzy’s granddaughters collectively exclaimed, “Just as our Papa would say, let’s get wild!

As a devoted admirer, I was fortunate to be part of Ozzy’s grand farewell event, where an impressive lineup graced the stage. From my perspective, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, and Post Malone all delivered electrifying performances that truly stole the show. Mariah Carey, in her inimitable style, captivated the audience with a medley of her most iconic hits before receiving the Video Vanguard Award. The night was also special as Ricky Martin and Busta Rhymes were honored with the Latin Icon Award and the Rock the Bells Visionary Award respectively, acknowledging their significant contributions to music.

Since the demise of Black Sabbath’s lead singer, his loved ones have been expressing heartfelt tributes in the past few weeks.

In an Instagram post last August, Jack expressed that he was part of a select few who could affectionately call him ‘Dad.’ He wrote about feeling both profound sadness and deep love in this time. Remarkably, he spent 14,501 days with this extraordinary man, and he considers himself truly fortunate for this gift.

In similar vein to Jack’s sister, Kelly Osbourne, expressed her sorrow following the demise of their father, mentioning that it would take some time for her to recover. However, she found solace in the heartfelt messages of sympathy from the public.

Kelly mentioned that each kind word, cherished memory, and act of kindness had a value beyond what she could put into words.
