Explore a realm where a Deception and an Explosive are barely apart, connected by a thin string. This is your introduction to Cut That Wire, the new social deduction game designed by WakaStudio. As a multiplayer game that merges elements of Werewolf and Among Us, Cut That Wire promises to deliver a thrilling experience.
In this game, the rules are quite straightforward. You and three other players find yourselves in a perilous situation as hostages, each of you carrying a bomb. The objective is to unmask the saboteur or survive until the end. Disarm the bomb by severing the correct wires. However, if you make the wrong cut, it results in an explosion that takes you out of the game.
In this game, things wouldn’t be exciting without an imposter causing chaos and sabotaging your efforts. The imposter can spot all the deadly wires, and their mission is to deceive everyone else into cutting the wrong ones. On the other hand, there’s another player who goes by the name of “Engineer,” who has a unique ability: they can identify one safe wire on each bomb.
In an ideal scenario, it’s best to work together with someone identified as the Engineer to prevent accidentally severing the incorrect wire and root out the impostor in the process. However, it’s important to remember that this Engineer could potentially be the very impostor you’re trying to identify.
Simple Yet Fun and Engaging Mechanics
In each bomb, there are four wires, so if you’re an ordinary player, making a single incorrect cut might cause the explosion to happen, endangering yourself. During every round, we’ll introduce “Big Bluff” mini-games that will challenge your ability to deceive others and think quickly.
In this minigame named “Big Bluff Drawing,” participants are asked to create something based on a specific hint. After completing their work, they unveil it for others to see. Simultaneously, the imposter receives a distinct hint and attempts to deceive everyone else into believing they’re working on the same hint as the other players by presenting a convincing forgery of their artwork.
In the “Big Bluff Picture” mini-game, participants are shown an image and asked questions based on that image. However, the deceiver sees a different image instead.
In summary, the mini-game known as “Big Bluff Deck” is about exchanging cards among players and ensuring that no one ends up with the least value.
Following each round, a voting process begins where every participant is asked to identify who they think might be the imposter. Once identified, that person will proceed to cut a wire on their own bomb, but before doing so, they’ll first flip a coin. If the coin lands blue, they get to choose which wire to cut. However, if it lands red, another player will be responsible for making the wire-cutting decision on their behalf.
The impostor, knowing precisely which wires lead to explosions, will strive to deceive others into choosing incorrect paths. Every ticking second matters given each bomb has a timer. Today, the Steam page for Cut That Wire became active, making it ideal to add it to your wishlist. At present, no official release date has been declared.
