Xbox Cloud Gaming is Coming to Select Vehicles Running on LG’s webOS Infotainment System

Microsoft has entered a new partnership with LG, aiming to expand the availability of its Xbox Cloud Gaming service. Notably, this collaboration is set to introduce the feature to automobiles. As part of this agreement, the Xbox software will be integrated into the LG webOS Automotive Content Platform (ACP), enabling users to stream games directly from Xbox Cloud Gaming while in their vehicles.

Hey there, fellow gaming enthusiast! Just like us gamers know, when you’re diving into LG’s webOS ACP world, your device has got to be connected online. It’s a given! However, So, no multitasking madness like playing Forza Horizon 5 (and tons of other awesome games) while you’re behind the wheel. That’s a big no-no for obvious reasons. To enjoy the action, you’ll need an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Happy gaming!

To play games seamlessly in the car, users only need to attach a suitable Bluetooth gaming controller and initiate the Xbox app through the vehicle’s infotainment system. Once logged into their Xbox account with an active Game Pass subscription, players can immediately start enjoying their games as cloud streaming eliminates the need for downloading or installing titles, saving valuable time.

With Xbox Cloud Gaming and LG Electronics, your car’s infotainment system isn’t just for music and movies anymore. Now it can also be a gaming hub! Whether you’re waiting at an electric charging station or making a long drive with passengers, use this time to play games and keep everyone entertained, turning the journey into a fun experience.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled about the latest expansion from Microsoft. They’re broadening the gaming experience for PC users via Xbox Cloud Gaming! In other words, they’re making it possible for more of us to enjoy PC gaming through Xbox Game Pass. Excitingly, as an Xbox Insider with a Game Pass Core or Standard subscription, I’ll get to try out PC versions of select games – this means I can now choose to play on my PC or any Windows handheld device!

The update introduced support for playing Xbox Cloud Gaming through the Xbox PC app back in July. Subscribers of Game Pass can stream games using this cloud service without any additional charges. This development seems to be part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to expand the availability of Xbox games across various platforms beyond just consoles and computers, possibly due to reports suggesting that console hardware sales have reached a plateau for the company in line with its Xbox Play Anywhere initiative.

At present, Microsoft is preparing for the debut of two handheld devices, the ROG Xbox Ally and the Xbox Ally X, which were developed in partnership with Asus. These devices will operate on Windows, featuring a fresh UI designed for easier navigation with a controller. The global launch is scheduled for October 16.
