Minecraft Live is back, and its next big update is almost here — here’s what to expect

Due to the vastness of Minecraft, it seems an annual event to unveil future updates and advancements might not suffice. Consequently, Minecraft Live occurs biannually, and it’s been announced that the second event in 2025 is scheduled.

Mojang Studios unveiled a sneak peek of their upcoming show, promising glimpses of the entirety of the “Copper Age” update, fresh previews of forthcoming games, backstage insights, and potentially additional surprises.

On September 27, 2025, you’ll be able to watch Minecraft Live. Let’s delve further into the details now. I will provide all the necessary information, along with some of my own speculations.

What you need to know about the next Minecraft Live

Above, you’ll find the fresh, vibrant, and amusing trailer for Minecraft Live. As always, it doesn’t disclose much about the event itself. Here’s a brief guide on how to catch Minecraft Live and when you should mark your calendar for tuning in.

  • Minecraft Live airs on Sept. 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. CEST.
  • Minecraft Live will be streamed in the below places, in addition to TikTok and Instagram.
  • Closer to the date, we expect more specific links, including for audio description, sign language, and other alternative streams.
  • Officially, this Minecraft Live will feature upcoming game drops, new information from the developers, and a “Dig Deep After Show” where developers and guests will go hands-on with new features.

What am I expecting to see at this Minecraft Live?

Since Mojang Studios started releasing smaller and more regular game updates instead of big ones, each update doesn’t feel as thrilling anymore. Nevertheless, the latest Minecraft Live was jam-packed with excitement, setting a high standard for the upcoming events this year. So, the second event has quite a lot to live up to.

As a researcher, I’m excited to share that we are likely to usher in the next phase of Minecraft with the “Copper Age” update. This update will resurrect the Copper Golem from the mob graveyard and introduce a wealth of new features centered around copper. It’s an intriguing development that has recently been named, although a release date hasn’t been announced yet.

There’s a good chance “The Copper Age” update will release during or immediately after the show.

As a dedicated fan, I’m excitedly anticipating that Minecraft Live could be the stage for Mojang to reveal the release date of The Copper Age game drop. However, with a hint of suspense, I suspect Mojang might surprise us all by unexpectedly releasing the new update right within the event itself, given that just three days passed between the last Minecraft Live and the subsequent Minecraft update.

It’s likely that the Minecraft team will unveil additional elements from the Copper Age update, which weren’t initially disclosed, such as shelves, fresh copper decorative blocks, and other interesting features.

As a researcher in the Minecraft community, I’m thrilled to share some exciting insights. This year, we’re expecting three game drops, with “The Copper Age” being the third one. If history repeats itself, there’s a high probability that we’ll have a fourth drop during the winter season.

At Minecraft Live, Mojang Studios has a tradition of announcing at least one game drop following “The Copper Age”. However, the nature of this update remains a mystery for now. So, we eagerly await to discover what new features or elements it will bring to players.

I’m eagerly anticipating the potential last Minecraft update of 2025, which I hope will make the year go out with a spectacular explosion! It would be fantastic if they introduce a brand-new, formidable mob as well (by the way, the Bedrock Edition has been longing for the combat enhancements that Java Edition has enjoyed for quite some time). Regardless of what it eventually becomes, hardcore players probably won’t have to wait long after the release before the initial features start being rolled out in snapshots and previews.

Although Mojang isn’t sharing many details at the moment, I can’t provide more insights than that. However, what I can confirm is that the Minecraft Live Mob Vote won’t be making a comeback. That particular event has already been discontinued and it’s no longer happening, which is good news.
