Have you ever yearned to witness a band of comedians acting absurdly? If so, then Taskmaster might just be the show for you, as it returns for its impressive 20th season on Channel 4.
In this installment, hosts Greg Davies and Alex Horne extend a warm greeting to the new batch of five comedians, who will tackle an assortment of unusual and sidesplitting challenges.
Up first they’ll be taking on challenges involving codes, gym balls and disgusting noises.

Ania Magliano

Ana Magliano, a humorist and author, has been growing in popularity since she made it to the finals of the Funny Women Awards back in 2020.
Ever since that time, she claimed the title of Best New Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2022 with her initial stand-up routine titled “Absolutely No Worries If Not”.
Apart from these, she has contributed writings to shows like “Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Chicken Shop Date”, “Frankie Boyle’s New World Order”, “Newsjack” and “The Now Show”.
Maisie Adam

Maisie Adam, known for her stand-up comedy, has made notable appearances on various shows such as Mock the Week, The Year’s Greatest Quiz, and A League of Their Own.
Some additional television programs she has been featured on are Celebrity MasterMind, The Tipping Point, and soon, the second season of Last One Laughing UK, which will be available on Prime Video in the year 2026.
She has a comedy special titled “Appraisal” that you can stream on Sky and NOW, and she shares the microphone for the popular women’s football podcast, “Big Kick Energy,” alongside Suzi Ruffell.
Phil Ellis

Phil Ellis is a comedian known for his performances on shows such as The Russell Howard Hour, British Drunk History, Comedy Central’s Roast Battle, and Redknapp’s Big Night Out.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe show “Funz & Gamez,” which won him an award, was turned into a special episode for BBC Three. Additionally, he is highly recognized for his BBC Radio 4 program titled “Phil Ellis Is Trying.
This year, towards its end, he plans to embark on a country-wide tour for his newest production titled Bath Mat, which will also feature a five-day stint at the Soho Theatre in London.
Reece Shearsmith

Age: 56

Job: Actor and comedian
Reece Shearsmith is primarily recognized for being a key member of the comedy troupe, The League of Gentlemen, which also includes Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss, and Jeremy Dyson. In this group, they are celebrated for their unique brand of humor.
Ever since then, Shearsmith and Pemberton have teamed up for the sitcom Psychoville and the dark comedy series Inside No. 9. Although Inside No. 9 recently concluded its run, this dynamic duo has made quite an impact in London’s West End with a limited performance last year.
He’s been featured in numerous television series and films, including Saltburn, See How They Run, several projects by Ben Wheatley, and lent his voice to Norbot in Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Wendish Eye.
Sanjeev Bhaskar

Sanjeev Bhaskar is a renowned actor and humorist, primarily recognized for his roles in the popular sketch comedy shows like Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at No. 42.
Over the course of his career, he’s appeared in multiple TV shows. Among them, he plays the leading role in Unforgotten as DI Sunny Khan. Additionally, he has worked on Mumbai Calling for ITV and The Indian Doctor on BBC One.
In the large cinema display, Bhaskar is present in each of the three Paddington movies, and he also stars in Notting Hill, The Flash, and Yesterday.
Taskmaster returns to Channel 4 on Thursday 11th September at 9pm.
