Saoirse Ronan Gives Birth, Welcomes First Baby With Jack Lowden

Saoirse Ronan just picked up a new role: mom. 

On September 11, the actress who played Lady Bird gave birth to her first child with her husband, Jack Lowden. The happy family was photographed taking a walk together in London, pushing the baby in a stroller, according to pictures obtained by The Sun.

Saoirse unveiled her pregnancy by showing off her baby bump for the first time while taking a walk around London with her partner, Jack, and their pet dog in May.

The couple started dating in 2017 after working together on the film “Mary Queen of Scots,” where he portrayed her titular character’s unfortunate husband. Generally, they have preferred to keep their relationship low-key, even marrying secretly in Scotland last July, with only a select group of friends and family attending the ceremony.

Despite this, the duo has provided some insights about their partnership, with notable collaborations such as “The Outrun” where they jointly produced the film and Saoirse, aged 31, played a significant role.

In October 2024, she shared with USA Today that Jack is more composed than herself, serving as her guiding voice. However, both of them, being lifetime veterans of film sets, understand the demands placed on actors and strive to ensure they feel secure during their work.

Although working together off-screen, Saoirse playfully hinted at a potential on-screen reunion with her spouse.

She shared that Jack had been hesitant for some time, but she managed to persuade him that it was an excellent idea. Now, she expressed her enthusiasm about potentially collaborating with him on a performance on stage.

As a devoted admirer, I may not leap as quickly as some to return before the camera alongside my spouse, but that doesn’t prevent me from extolling her virtues with enthusiasm and sincerity.

In a panel discussion for AOL’s BUILD series in December 2018, Jack enthusiastically praised Saoirse. He found her to be not just extraordinary while acting, but also a powerful presence both on and off camera. Moreover, he mentioned that she is fearless and an exceptional leader.

Although they prefer to keep their relationship private, they understand that being in the limelight is part of what they signed up for. As Jack said to i Newspaper in 2023, “I’m not naive about it. The two of us aren’t taken aback by it. We greatly appreciate the level of attention we receive.” They enjoy the good treatment but don’t actively pursue it either.

He went on to say, “It’s clear that it’s something we’ve created ourselves.” But as long as we have one another, we can handle whatever comes our way.
