So Anthropic just pulled in $13 billion in a Series F round. Yeah, billion with a B. Now they’re worth $183 billion post-money. What, did they discover the secret sauce? Or is someone just throwing around cash like it grows on trees?
Anthropic Sees New Funding (Because Why Not?)
Oh, surprise surprise, the round was led by ICONIQ and co-led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Fancy names, right? They claim Anthropic will use the cash to keep up with enterprise demand, “advance safety research” (because you know, AI might take over the world someday), and “expand internationally” – which, in normal speak, means, “We’re gonna spend it on fancy offices.”
//news.bitcoin.com/study-generative-ai-could-add-trillions-to-global-economy/”>Studies say
generative AI tech (Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI) could add trillions of dollars to the global economy. No kidding! Amazon and Alphabet (Google’s parent, just in case you forgot) are cozying up with Anthropic too. Strategic partnerships plus capital-because what’s friendship without money?
Oh, and before Anthropic was the cool kid on the AI block, Sam Bankman-Fried, yes THAT guy from FTX, personally tossed half a billion dollars at them back in 2021. Talk about putting all your eggs in a very futuristic basket.
So, there you have it. Anthropic’s basically the AI equivalent of a high-roller at Vegas. What’s next? Maybe a robot that can finally understand Larry David’s neuroses. Now that’s AI I’d invest in. 🤷♂️
