Peacemaker Season 2’s Sasha Bordeaux Powers, Batman Connections & More Explained

In the second season of “Peacemaker,” there are several Batman-connected characters introduced, with Sasha Bordeaux, played by Sol Rodriguez, being one of them. This new season of DC Universe television shows lays the groundwork for some thrilling narratives in the coming times, featuring characters linked to the iconic superhero known as the Caped Crusader. Amongst returning strong figures like Peacemaker, Judomaster, and Vigilante, fresh faces also make their mark in the series.

Sasha Bordeaux, a fresh recruit, joins ARGUS’ lineup of DC Comics characters being revitalized within the DC Universe under the leadership of co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran at DC Studios. In the first half of Season 2, Rodriguez’s character has played a crucial supporting role in Peacemaker, but the portrayal of Sasha in DC Comics is richer, with additional tales and narrative elements yet to unfold.

Sasha Bordeaux’s Superpowers & Batman Ties in the Comics

As a comic book aficionado, I’ve come across Sasha Bordreaux who serves as the bodyguard for none other than Bruce Wayne in the comics. Interestingly, she was placed in that role by Lucius Fox against Wayne’s initial preference. Over time, she found herself privy to Wayne’s hidden identity – the legendary Batman. This insider knowledge of his dual persona made her an irreplaceable asset, ensuring her continued employment.

In the comics, Bordeaux forms an unusual romantic bond with Bruce Wayne and learns under him as his apprentice. As they are falsely accused of murder, she protects his identity and ends up imprisoned. Later, a clandestine group known as Checkmate rescues her, stages her death, and recruits her into their organization.

Ascending through the hierarchy to serve as Maxwell Lord’s deputy (a role he played in the initial episode of Peacemaker Season 2), she ultimately turns against Lord, sparking a confrontation involving Superman, Wonder Woman, and the OMAC army.

Later on, Bordeaux transforms into an OMAC cyborg, maintaining many human characteristics while her skin takes on a magnetic-like appearance. Unfortunately, she also loses one of her eyes during this transformation. Despite this alteration, Bordeaux still retains her free will unlike other OMAC cyborgs created by Brother I. With her newfound abilities, she courageously sets out to pursue her attacker.

In the DCU’s series “Peacemaker,” Bordeaux makes her debut, but the show has room for future developments that may delve into her cyborg background and weave in ties with Batman, as seen in the comics. Currently, it is predicted that she will carry on working alongside Rick Flag and the team within ARGUS, however, there’s a possibility she could rejoin Peacemaker by the end of this season.

Peacemaker Season 2’s Sasha Bordeaux Explained

Warning – this article contains minor spoilers through Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 4.

In the second season of “Peacemaker,” Sol Rodriguez joins the DCU for the first time, portraying Sasha Bordeaux, an agent for the agency ARGUS. As of now, she has appeared in all four episodes that have been released. Her character is introduced when Frank Grillo’s character, Rick Flag Sr., assumes the role of director at ARGUS.

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I can’t help but dwell on the heart-wrenching event where Peacemaker took the life of Rick Flag Jr. This incident prompted Grillo’s Flag Sr. to instruct Bordeaux to station a team of agents around Christopher Smith’s residence day and night, should he take any action that might land him back in Belle Reve prison. At first, I hesitated, considering Peacemaker’s esteemed service in The Suicide Squad, but ultimately, I followed the order and dispatched a surveillance team to keep watch over him.

In the latest episode, as an interdimensional irregularity was discovered within Peacemaker’s home, which served as his quantum portal, a character attempted to gain access. However, Eagly’s team was swiftly neutralized by them. This week, Bordeaux collaborated with Red St. Wild, Michael Rooker’s original DC persona, to subdue Eagly and apprehend Peacemaker.

As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I too called upon John Economos for an undercover mission: infiltrating his quantum storage vault. The final act unfolded with me, Peacemaker, and Leota Adebayo skillfully rerouting the entire neighborhood, ensuring it veered clear of my humble abode.

Rodriguez talked about her character within the DC Universe with TopMob in June, stating that Sasha Bordeaux is a significantly distinct character compared to her comic book version, and emphasized that she has no connection or involvement with Batman.

I wasn’t serious before, just joking around! Let me clarify, I’m not joking now. In fact, my character is Sasha Bordeaux, who originates from the comics. This allows me to discuss the comic aspect, but in the TV series ‘Peacemaker,’ written by James Gunn, Sasha is portrayed differently. Unlike the comics, I don’t have any connection to Batman or similar stories. However, in the second season of ‘Peacemaker,’ Sasha brings something fresh and unique to the table. Unfortunately, I can’t reveal any details about her role here, but if you’re familiar with her comic book character, there are interesting connections.

Speaking about her work with Discussing Film, Rodriguez mentioned that she aimed to preserve the unique qualities of the character from the comics and layer her personal touch onto the roles James Gunn created for her, which differed from her portrayal of Batman’s companion.

According to DC Film News, during a recent interview, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn cryptically hinted about Batman’s role in Sasha’s story without explicitly confirming it. When asked if the two characters have crossed paths, he simply replied, “I didn’t say that.

In the second run of DC Studios’ Peacemaker, James Gunn introduces another online series to his freshly-created DC Universe, following Creature Commandos. The cast includes John Cena, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, and Freddie Stroma. This season follows Christopher Smith as he embarks on a new path towards heroism, while grappling with various alternate realities and a vengeful adversary hot on his heels. Every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, you can catch the latest episodes of Peacemaker Season 2 on HBO Max.
