During Nintendo Direct’s presentation last Friday, Supergiant Games announced that their early access title Hades 2 is nearing its full release. The highly anticipated version 1.0 will be available starting September 25, 2025.
With the upcoming 1.0 update, players can look forward to experiencing the final chapter of the game’s story. This brings a conclusion to the character developments and relationships that have been built upon over the past year or so.
Below you’ll find the trailer for Hades 2’s version 1.0 update:

In addition to leaving early access on Windows PC, the sequel to Hades will simultaneously launch on both the standard Nintendo Switch and the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. Those who own Nintendo’s latest console can enjoy the game running at an impressive 120 frames per second.
Cross-save functionality is available for Hades 2, allowing players to transfer their progress from PC versions on Steam or the Epic Games Store seamlessly onto a Nintendo console. The game can be purchased digitally for $30 on both PC and Nintendo platforms.
Unfortunately, Xbox and PlayStation gamers will have to wait a bit longer as Hades 2 is a timed exclusive for Nintendo consoles, just like its predecessor.
Hades 2 is Supergiant’s first-ever sequel
Title Sequence: Hades 2 – A New Journey Begins
For the first time, Supergiant Games has delved into the realm of sequels with Hades 2, a follow-up that builds upon the triumphs of its prequel.
In this installment, Melinoë, the younger sister of Zagreus and offspring of the titular Greek deity, assumes center stage. The mission for Melinoë is to eliminate Chronos, the Titan of Time, and repel his forces that have invaded both the Underworld and Mount Olympus simultaneously.
Just as in the original game, Hades 2 is a roguelike adventure, where Melinoë encounters powers of the divine and enemy engagements that differ with each attempt. This roguelike format serves as the narrative backbone, allowing Melinoë to unearth secrets and forge deeper connections as she advances.
Supergiant Games initially released Hades 2 into early access on Windows PC in May 2024, offering players an opportunity to explore a preliminary version of the game. Since then, significant and minor updates have been implemented, addressing bugs, introducing new story content, weapons, gods, bosses, adjusting player feedback for ability balancing, and much more.
Over the course of more than 60 hours in Hades 2’s early access, I’ve found myself thoroughly engrossed and eagerly anticipate the resolution of this captivating narrative. Down with Chronos!
