Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil Shares He Suffered a Stroke & Couldn’t Walk

Vince Neil is on the mend after a harrowing health journey.

On December 26th, the lead vocalist of Mötley Crüe disclosed that he had experienced a stroke, surprisingly, as he felt perfectly well the evening prior.

Vince mentioned in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal on September 12th that he suffered a stroke, leaving him paralyzed on his entire left side.

Instead, the 64-year-old shared that he faced a challenging journey in re-learning how to walk after some time.

Vince remarked that the doctors had expressed doubts about his ability to perform on stage once more, but he retorted, ‘I won’t let that stop me. Give me a chance to prove you wrong.’

To ensure their well-being, the rock band Mötley Crüe (consisting of Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, and John 5) delayed the start date for their Las Vegas residency at Park MGM, moving it from March and April to September and October.

During that time, Vince was in physical therapy at his home in Nashville.

He reminisced about his journey from being carried to the bathroom due to his inability to walk, later using a wheelchair, then progressing to a walker and finally having a cane. Now, he’s independent, but recovering fully felt like a full-time job.

Though the stroke didn’t impact his vocal abilities, the musician admitted it was challenging for him to train his brain to initiate leg movements again. He even collaborated with a nearby football coach, following their guidance during exercises designed to aid him in regaining mobility.

Vince revealed that he’s been practicing running extensively and has regained his running skills after a while. He admitted it had been challenging, but he’s nearly back to his previous level. He’s excited because he’s almost 95% there.

Initially, when Vince and Mötley Crüe announced show cancellations in March, they didn’t disclose the reason behind Vince needing a “necessary medical intervention.” However, he did have a heartfelt message to share with their fans back then.

Dear Crüeheads, I deeply regret to inform you that we won’t be able to perform this Spring as planned due to health reasons. Rest assured, my main focus is ensuring I am well enough to deliver the spectacular shows you expect from us. I can hardly wait to get back on stage and see you all again! Thank you for the countless messages of support; your kindness means more than words can express.

The remainder of the band expressed their hope for a swift recovery, Vince, and gratitude towards the fans for their patience and kindness during the delay.

She stated, “Upon reaching puberty, women are typically instructed that menstruation brings pain, which is just an inherent aspect of femininity. However, many of us grapple with this issue on our own, as it significantly impacts our lives.

In July 2025, as a devoted follower, I was saddened to learn that our beloved star of Daisy Jones & The Six had been admitted to the hospital due to an unfortunate issue with hernia, a condition where there’s a tear or gap in the abdominal or groin muscle wall, apparently brought on by the constant wearing of tight pants.

She wrote on the platform that was once called Twitter, “You don’t post on Twitter much anymore.” She wondered if you had ever pondered about the time six months ago when your pants were so tight they gave you a hernia, and you’ve been hesitant to share that with me since then?

In the March 2025 episode of his “Trading Secrets” podcast, he remarked that his legs from knees to toes were still numb and strange, which was surprising. To provide some context, let me clarify that about two to four weeks prior, he might have been squatting around 295 pounds. At the moment, however, he’s unable to do even a single-legged squat without falling – as if he had experienced a stroke or similar condition.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Hailey Bieber experienced a terrifying incident in March 2022, during breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber, when she started showing symptoms similar to a stroke. As she recounted the event on YouTube a month later, she shared that she didn’t respond when Justin asked if she was okay because she wasn’t sure and then struggled to speak. Her right side of the face drooped, and she couldn’t complete a sentence.

Hailey mentioned that the facial drooping stopped, but her speech returned. Worried about her condition, she went to the hospital for a checkup. They conducted scans and discovered a small blood clot in her brain, which they classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA).

After further examination at the University of California, Los Angeles, Hailey was diagnosed with a hole in her heart called patent foramen ovale (PFO). She explained that the blood clot had passed through this hole and reached her brain, causing the TIA.

Hailey underwent a successful procedure to close the PFO and reported feeling much better now.

In the same year, Hailey underwent a health crisis, Justin Bieber also faced a health issue – specifically, he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. This condition led to temporary paralysis on one side of his face, causing him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour. He shared in an Instagram video that this syndrome affected the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, resulting in full paralysis on one side of his face. The condition made it difficult for him to eat, but thankfully, the paralysis subsided over time. Hailey commented on a Good Morning America episode in June 2022, stating that Justin was feeling much better, although the situation had been quite frightening and unexpected. She went on to explain, “My bodily functions were failing severely, and it wasn’t until later that I discovered I had rhabdomyolysis. Essentially, my body was giving me a warning signal, telling me it was approaching a point of collapse.

In 2019, actress Emilia Clarke, well-known for her role in Game of Thrones, penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in The New Yorker. She described a harrowing incident at the gym where she experienced severe vomiting and escalating pain, which she later understood was due to brain damage from a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a potentially fatal type of stroke. After being rushed to the hospital for a scan, she underwent immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, enduring unbearable pain during recovery. At one point, she suffered from aphasia, speaking incoherently. However, her condition improved when the aphasia subsided a week later, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. Unfortunately, in 2013, a growth was found to have doubled in size, necessitating another surgery. She had the operation through an old-fashioned method-her skull. Fortunately, Emilia is now fully recovered.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this:

In my own words, I, Cori Broadus – daughter of Snoop Dogg – am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my family. Back in January 2024, after experiencing a severe stroke, my loved ones rushed to be by my side. I reached out to them, sending a picture and a message, only to find that everyone came to my aid immediately.

Due to other health complications related to lupus, my hospital stay extended beyond what was initially anticipated. While I could have left the hospital after the stroke, my kidneys were struggling, and there were numerous other medical concerns to address.

Thankfully, today, I’m making a strong recovery. I may still be working on regaining some motor skills, but overall, I am doing exceptionally well. I remain forever thankful for the love and support that carried me through those challenging times.

In her twenties, the health of Shailene Woodley wasn’t smooth sailing. The actress once disclosed on the September 2024 episode of the SHE MD Podcast that she experienced severe health issues: “I was losing my hearing, I could barely walk for more than five minutes without needing to rest for hours, and whatever I ate upset my stomach.” She described this period as a mix of various health problems and conflicting diagnoses from different doctors.

In an effort to find answers, Shailene-who has a holistic background with a focus on herbalism-decided to consult both traditional medical professionals (MDs) and independent healers. This quest for understanding took her on a ten-year journey.

During this decade-long struggle, she faced additional challenges mentally. “Throughout that time,” the Big Little Lies star explained, “I developed fears around food due to the physical discomfort, which led to anxiety and issues with body dysmorphia, self-image confusion, and feelings of insecurity about my identity.”

Finally, after addressing both her physical and mental wellbeing, Shailene is now feeling much healthier. “The journey eventually resolved itself physically,” she shared, “and I am delighted to say that I am in good health now.
