I’m super excited! Red Dunes Games just revealed what they’re bringing to Tokyo Game Show 2025. It’s happening from September 25th to 28th at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, and I can’t wait to check it all out!
Red Dune Games is thrilled to be back at Tokyo Game Show this year. According to CEO Sultan Darmakin, their presence has significantly grown since last year, thanks to the support of their partners and the dedication of their team. They’re showcasing a diverse lineup of games, including both popular titles and promising indie projects. Red Dune Games is committed to supporting creators of all sizes and delivering enjoyable, memorable gaming experiences to players and partners alike.
I’m really excited for the Red Dunes Games booth! They’re letting us play 12 of their games on 32 super powerful PCs, all sponsored by GALLERIA. It’s awesome they’re focusing on the PC experience, but good to know console versions are also in the works!
The publisher’s games lineup is as follows:
- Blades of Mirage – A highly epic imaginative isometric RPG set in a Southeast Asian-inspired world. As Mira, use your ability to create water-based weapons and utilize your strongest strategies to defeat the guardians and secure the treasures. Explore ancient ruins scattered across unique islands, confront corrupted, powerful creatures and solve intricate puzzles to secure the ancient relics.
- Katuba’s Poacher – South Korean one-man developer / studio Joe Yu shows off his exceptional talent. Katuba’s Poacher is a boss-rush cartoon action challenge, with a subtle blend of roguelite, action and ‘arcade boss battles’ elements. You are on a quest to defeat bosses in battles that play out like musical acts, brought to life in a hand-drawn, 2D cartoon fantasy world.
- LightSup! – A couch action beat ’em up cooperative game for one-to-four players with roguelite elements. Encounter hordes of ferocious monsters crawling from the dungeons and forest. Prepare your weapons, worship the Altar of Lights to illuminate your path, and cleanse the Lumineia Kingdom from the Eclipse and its eternal darkness.
- Nightmare Circus – Find your friends and escape the nightmare in the award-nominated Nightmare Circus which is an enthralling action-adventure game where you take on the role of a Puppeteer trapped in the Nightmare Realm. Employ an array of tools for creating satisfying collisions to smash, crash, and slam into enemies, obstacles, and danger; create your play style to deal with the many nightmares that roam the land!
- Port of Jumanah – A 2.5D action-adventure with roguelite elements, Port of Jumanah follows Mansour on a surreal journey beneath the waves. Inspired by the United Arab Emirates’ pearl diving heritage, the game blends fast-paced combat, whimsical storytelling, and a richly imagined underwater world filled with secrets to uncover.
- Princess of the Water Lilies – A hand-drawn 2D puzzle-platformer where a cat, frogs, and other creatures bring a whimsical world to life. Explore beautifully crafted environments inspired by classic animated tales from the 70s to the 90s.
- Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past! – Announced early in the year to wild and enthusiastic feedback. This iconic intellectual property, backed fully by the owners/creators of the original Samurai Pizza Cats TV series! This is one very sought after title! Take control of the Pizza Cats and prevent The Big Cheese from taking over Little Tokyo once and for all in this 2D action-packed adventure.
- Silent Planet: Elegy of a Dying World – The year is 2997. Steel yourself with your Asimov Plasma Blade and harness the power of the ancient Psionic Disciplines in Silent Planet, an exploration-focused, gothic science-fiction Metroidvania rooted in cosmic horror—a mix of genres seamlessly conjoined to create a game of mature intrigue! You play as Apranik. Your mission is to travel to the planet Thulcandra in search of a crucial item: the Angel’s Egg. Explore the claustrophobic corridors of a massive underground complex filled with the remnants of technological and biological horrors created by a dead civilization.
- Zozo and the Lost Dreams – A light-hearted 2D Metroidvania platformer about Zozo, a young boy trapped in a dream world. Join Zozo as he explores the bizarre dream world packed with quirky characters, peculiar enemies, funny stories, and surprises that’ll keep you on your toes. With a neat storyline, humorous narratives, and a colourful and vibrant world, this is an indie game with plenty of appeal!
The following three games developed by ACQUIRE will also be featured:
Monster Eater
This city is filled with strange stories and hidden dangers. To stay alive, you’ll need to track down these threats-before they find you.
Hamrazu:Re
Okay, so imagine this incredible story starts on a train, and it’s stuck in a time loop! Every time it resets, I learn a little more about what’s *really* going on, but there’s this constant pressure because time is always running out. It’s super suspenseful and I’m totally hooked trying to figure out the mystery!
Codename: Project Tremor
When colossal threats rise, the fight to reclaim everyday life begins.
The press release states that these projects are only the first step in a developing collaboration between Red Dunes and ACQUIRE, with more details to be announced on September 19.
