The strategy RPG collection *R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos* is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch in Japan on March 12, 2026, and will cost 6,380 yen, according to listings from retailers like Biccamera and Rakuten Books. The Switch 2 version will be sold as a game-key card. It’s also planned for Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). While those versions are expected around the same date, it’s not yet confirmed, as the current information comes from retailers listing only the physical releases.
Besides the regular version, a special “Premium Box” edition of *R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos* will be available for 18,920 yen. This edition includes the game itself, a 1/100 scale plastic model of the Rwf-9AG ARROW-HEAD Granzella Revolutionary Army Specs, and a set of acrylic stands.
I’m so excited for *R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos*! NIS America is bringing it to the West, though they haven’t said *when* yet. But the good news is the Japanese version already has a ton of language options – English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and even Chinese and Korean! Because of that, I’m guessing we’ll see it released everywhere around the same time, which is awesome.
