As it turns out, the Chrisleys may not know best.
Chase Chrisley was recently turned down when he proposed to his girlfriend, Jodi Laine Fournerat. He asked her to marry him in their bedroom, but she said no.
What are Todd Chrisley‘s thoughts on Chase’s actions? He’s happy to see his son beginning a new phase in his life.
Todd, 56, recently shared what he hopes for his son’s future love life. On the September 16th episode of *The Chrisleys: Back to Reality*, he said he wants his son to find a partner who brings him deep happiness and fulfillment. He also expressed his desire for someone who would be a wonderful mother to his children and a great wife, and importantly, someone he himself would enjoy being around.
Chase Chrisley started dating Jodi while his father, Todd, was in prison for tax fraud. However, Chase admitted he doesn’t really know much about her. (Todd was released in May after receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump.)
Todd said Jodi was present when they returned home, but he only spoke to her briefly – for about five minutes, he estimated. Since then, they haven’t had any significant contact with her.
Oh my gosh, it’s just heartbreaking watching Chase and Savannah struggle! I feel so bad for them. And you know, listening to Jodi talk about it… it’s like, she’s just caught in the middle! She said people are judging *her* because the family doesn’t seem to like Chase, and they’re assuming things about her without even getting to know her. It’s so unfair! I just want everyone to get along, and it’s killing me to see them all fighting.
The influencer went on to say she might not be fitting the expectations of others, possibly because of disagreements about Chase.
Despite her reservations, Jodi does want to continue her relationship with her boyfriend of two years. When Chase proposed, she explained that she wasn’t rejecting *him*, but the circumstances surrounding the proposal.
Jodi remembered telling Chase, ‘Get up!’ when he proposed, right after he’d gotten out of the shower. She said she told him, ‘We’re not doing this here, and we’re not doing this now.’
For everything to know about the Chrisley family, read on.
Todd Chrisley is the head of the Chrisley family. Born in Georgia in April 1969 and raised in South Carolina, he first married Teresa Terry and they had two children, Lindsie and Kyle, before divorcing. In 1996, he married Julie (born in South Carolina in January 1973), and together they expanded their family with children Chase, Savannah, and Grayson, as well as adopted Kyle’s daughter, Chloe. The family faced challenges, including Julie’s battle with and recovery from breast cancer in 2012.
Before becoming known for reality television, Todd built a successful real estate business, which he said provided the majority of the family’s income. Julie was working at a bank when she and Todd began dating. Their family life was chronicled in the show *Chrisley Knows Best*, which ran from 2014 to 2023 and led to spin-offs like *Growing Up Chrisley* and *What’s Cooking With Julie?*, as well as various podcasts.
In 2022, Todd and Julie were convicted of fraud and tax crimes and initially sentenced to 12 and 7 years in prison, respectively. They maintained their innocence. However, in May 2025, President Donald Trump pardoned both Todd and Julie, leading to their release from prison.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following Lindsie Todd’s journey for a while now, and it’s been quite a rollercoaster. Born in September 1989, she’s Todd’s oldest daughter and a Georgia State University graduate where she met her now ex-husband, Will Campbell. They married in 2012, and that December, they welcomed their son, Jackson. Soon after, in 2014, we all got a peek into their lives with the premiere of *Chrisley Knows Best*.
For five seasons, the show documented family life, including the challenges between Todd and Will. Eventually, Lindsie and Will divorced in 2016, and she left the show the following year. What followed was a period of public family conflict. It wasn’t until 2022 that we saw a public reconciliation between Lindsie, Todd, Julie, and Savannah through their podcasts.
Todd himself admitted on *Chrisley Confessions* that while he wasn’t prepared for the estrangement, looking back, it was something they all needed. Sadly, that reunion didn’t last. By early 2025, Lindsie revealed on her podcast, *The Southern Tea*, that she hadn’t seen her dad in quite some time, and she confirmed she was also estranged from her siblings.
She’s been open about it, explaining on *Cate & Ty Break It Down* that sometimes, even when you’re around family, you simply don’t align or serve a positive purpose in each other’s lives, and that’s okay. However, with the pardon of Julie and Todd in May 2025, Lindsie shared a hopeful message on Instagram, reminding everyone that ‘With God all things are possible.’ It’s a testament to the complexities of family and the ever-present hope for reconciliation.
Kyle, born in August 1991, is Todd Chrisley’s oldest son from his marriage to Teresa. He has a daughter, Chloe, born in November 2012, with his former partner Angela Johnson, but Todd and Julie legally adopted her in 2016.
Kyle was primarily on the first season of *Chrisley Knows Best* (with a quick appearance in 2021), but his past legal issues and complicated relationship with his family-which included periods of estrangement and reconciliation-often made news. He’s been open about his struggles with mental health and addiction, announcing his sobriety in a 2019 Facebook post.
In 2021, Kyle married Ashley Nelson and became a stepfather to her children, Haiden and Mackenzie.
He hopes to rebuild his relationship with Todd and Julie after they are released from prison. In May 2025, he told TopMob News, “I know they can’t wait to get home and just be with family, and I’m going to remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible.”
Chase Chrisley, born in June 1996, is the oldest child of Todd and Julie Chrisley. He’s known for appearing on the reality shows *Chrisley Knows Best* and *Growing Up Chrisley* alongside his family, particularly his sister Savannah from 2019 to 2022.
Chase previously had a relationship with Emmy Medders, but they broke up in 2023. Later that year, he began dating Jodi Laine Fournerat, and frequently shares photos of her – and his grandmother, Nanny Faye Chrisley – on his Instagram.
After his parents were incarcerated, Chase spoke about how the experience brought him and his siblings closer together. He told *Extra* in 2023, “When you get hit with something like this, we’ve clung together and we’re still fighting.”
In January 2025, Chase was arrested in Atlanta on a simple battery charge after allegedly getting into an altercation with a bar manager. According to police reports, the incident occurred after he was asked to leave and became intoxicated. His lawyers told *People* that the situation was exaggerated and that he did not assault anyone, stating they would investigate the claims independently.
Beyond television, Chase is also a businessman, having launched both a candle brand and a roofing company.
Savannah Chrisley was born to Todd and Julie in August 1997. She initially gained recognition through pageants, winning Miss Tennessee Teen USA in 2016. She then appeared on several reality TV shows, including *Chrisley Knows Best*, *Growing Up Chrisley*, *The Masked Singer*, and *Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test*. Beyond television, Savannah works as a real estate agent in Tennessee, founded the company Good Girl RX, and hosts the *Unlocked* podcast.
Savannah became engaged to hockey player Nic Kerdiles in 2019, but they ended their relationship in 2020. Tragically, Kerdiles passed away in a motorcycle accident in 2023. She later dated Robert Shiver, but they separated in April 2025 after nearly two years together.
While her parents were incarcerated, Savannah took legal custody of her siblings, Grayson and Chloe, and actively campaigned for their release. At the 2024 Republican National Convention, she powerfully shared that the numbers 72600019 and 72601019 represent her parents’ inmate identification numbers and, to her, represent her entire heart.
Following a pardon from President Trump, Todd and Julie were released from prison, and Savannah shared heartwarming footage of their return home.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve followed the Chrisley family for a while, and Grayson’s story is particularly touching. He’s the youngest of Todd and Julie’s children, born in May 2006, and really came into the public eye when *Chrisley Knows Best* first aired. Now he’s a student at the University of Alabama, where he’s definitely recognized! He recently shared on Savannah’s *Unlocked* podcast that the attention on campus has been pretty overwhelming.
When his parents faced legal challenges, Savannah stepped in to help raise Grayson and his sister, Chloe. She’s always been clear that she’s not trying to *replace* their parents, but rather to love and guide them as their sister. She’s openly talked about how challenging, yet incredibly rewarding, being a bonus parent is.
It’s clear Savannah and Grayson have developed an incredibly strong bond. In a heartfelt Instagram post for his 18th birthday, Savannah beautifully expressed that while many see her as his savior, he actually saved *her*. It’s a testament to the power of family, even those formed in unexpected ways.
Chloe came into Todd and Julie Chrisley’s lives when their son, Kyle, had her with Angela Johnson in 2012. They initially acted as her grandparents, but formally adopted her four years later. Julie expressed her immense joy about Chloe on Instagram in 2018, saying the child brought so much happiness to their family.
Fans followed Todd and Julie raising Chloe – affectionately known as CoCo – on their reality show, *Chrisley Knows Best*. When Todd and Julie went to prison, their daughter Savannah stepped in as Chloe’s guardian.
On Chloe’s 11th birthday in November 2023, Savannah shared a heartfelt Instagram post praising Chloe’s personality and spirit, saying she constantly learns from her and that Chloe makes everyone around her better.
After Todd and Julie received a pardon from President Trump, Savannah described Chloe’s cautious reaction, explaining that she was hesitant to get her hopes up. Savannah also expressed her excitement about reuniting with her father and bringing him home to Chloe.
Faye Chrisley, known affectionately as “Nanny,” is the mother of Todd Chrisley. He publicly expressed his deep love and gratitude for her on Mother’s Day 2021, praising her for filling his life with love, hope, and faith.
Born in South Carolina in September 1944, Nanny married army veteran Gene Chrisley, and together they had three sons: Todd, Randy, and Derrick. Sadly, their youngest son, Derrick, passed away as a baby, and Gene died in 2012.
Nanny became a fan favorite on the show *Chrisley Knows Best* thanks to her lively personality, close relationship with her sister Frances (who passed away in 2022), her dating life, and her wise advice. She always showed viewers how to enjoy life, whether she was at the casino, enjoying a glass of wine, or spending time with family.
Despite the joys in her life, Nanny has faced challenges. In addition to her son Todd and daughter-in-law Julie’s legal troubles, she was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021. Thankfully, she announced in 2023 that she was in remission and feeling well.
“I’m in remission, thank God,” Nanny shared on a podcast. “I’ve been out moving around, doing the best I can.”
That sentiment – doing the best she can – truly embodies Nanny’s approach to life. As she once said, “The world don’t always give you a good deck of cards to play with, so you play with them the best you can. You get up, brush yourself off and keep going.”
