Europe is a key region for PlayStation, with a particularly dedicated fanbase, and Sony has consistently performed strongly there.
A recent episode of the Spanish podcast Vandal Radio, as reported by ResetEra, suggests the PlayStation 5 is once again outselling the Nintendo Switch 2 after the Switch 2’s release earlier this year.
According to a recent podcast, the PlayStation 5 sold more units than the Nintendo Switch in August, and this has continued into September. Despite this, the Nintendo Switch seems to be readily available in stores.
When it comes to physical copies, games such as Cronos: The New Dawn are selling significantly better on the PS5 than on the Switch 2, which isn’t surprising given how many more PS5 consoles are currently in use. It’s also important to remember that most people now buy games online rather than as physical discs.
While Spain is a decent-sized market in Europe, it doesn’t necessarily reflect what’s happening worldwide.
We need to gather more sales information from across the globe before we can make any definitive decisions.
