Just a week after releasing *Borderlands 4*, Gearbox Software has issued its first major update. While fans generally enjoy the new game and feel it’s a significant step up from *Borderlands 3*, many have reported performance issues on both consoles and PCs. This new patch aims to improve performance, and Gearbox anticipates releasing more updates in the future.
A new update for *Borderlands 4* is available now. While not a huge update, it addresses important stability issues, especially for PC players experiencing crashes. Gearbox has fixed crashes caused by specific animations and audio glitches, and also made small improvements to the Reward Center and a mission involving Zadra.
This is the first major update since the release of *Borderlands 4*, and it’s the first time the Weekly Big Encore Boss and Wildcard Mission have been updated. These elements will change every week to keep the game fresh and encourage players to return.

Weekly Minor Updates:
Each week, the Weekly Big Encore Boss and Wildcard Mission will change. Plus, Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine will be in a new location!
Weekly Big Encore Boss
The Weekly Big Encore Boss is a harder version of a boss you’ve already faced, and defeating it will give you even better rewards.
Weekly Wildcard Missions
Weekly Wildcard Missions take regular missions and make them more difficult with special challenges. Completing them always gives you a guaranteed Legendary item, and you can keep replaying them to get exactly the stats you want on that item.
Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine
Check each week to find the new location of the Black Market Vending Machine and see what it’s offering. Keep in mind that everyone sees different items in their vending machine, so it’s a good idea to ask other players if they have something you need!
