Ever since the first season of *The Boys* debuted on Prime Video, Antony Starr’s Homelander has been established as the strongest and most threatening superpowered individual in the show. Throughout the series, Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher has been desperately trying to find a way to defeat him, even going to extreme lengths like using Temp V and searching for a virus that can eliminate supers, as we saw in *Gen V*. However, recent episodes in the *The Boys* universe have introduced a character who might finally be capable of stopping Homelander.
Jaz Sinclair, star of *Gen V*, recently discussed her character Marie Moreau in an interview with ComicBook. Marie, who can control blood, is increasingly being positioned as potentially more powerful than Homelander, a key storyline for the show’s second season. Sinclair believes Marie *is* indeed more powerful.
Sinclair explained that the character doesn’t appreciate being compared to Homelander, as he’s a negative figure. This comparison likely damages her self-esteem. While she seems to resist being told how strong she is, wanting to be seen as normal, a part of her probably hopes her power will justify her experiences.
When someone finally asked if Marie was stronger than Homelander, Sinclair was surprised. He explained that people usually ask if he could *fight* Homelander, not if Marie herself was more powerful. However, when pressed, he admitted he thought she was.
As a big fan of *The Boys*, I remember that Homelander doesn’t bleed much – it’s a huge deal whenever he does! But even that limited amount of blood loss proves he’s not totally untouchable, especially when it comes to Marie Moreau. Her power isn’t just about controlling her *own* blood to create things like whips, it also lets her manipulate *other* people’s blood too, which is seriously scary.
Marie has an incredible ability: she can control blood, both inside and outside of a person’s body. This allows her to save lives, but also potentially cause deadly harm by, for example, concentrating all the blood in one place. As Sinclair pointed out, this power gives Marie a significant advantage over Homelander.

Homelander briefly appeared in the first season finale of *Gen V*, swiftly stopping a campus riot by taking Marie and her classmates into custody. It’s unclear if he’ll be back for Season 2. When asked about potentially appearing in the fifth and final season of *The Boys*, actress Valorie Sinclair didn’t dismiss the idea, saying, “Anything could happen… there’s still a chance.”
The first three episodes of Gen V Season 2 are now streaming on Prime Video.
