Halsey isn’t as close to releasing new music as she’d like to be.
The singer of “Closer” suggested her record label is blocking her from starting a new album because her latest album, *The Great Impersonator* (released in October 2024), didn’t sell well enough.
The singer explained to Zane Lowe in a recent Apple Music interview that they’re currently unable to work on a new album. They stated this was because their previous album, *The Great Impersonator*, didn’t achieve the expected results.
Halsey, whose full name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, explained that it wasn’t fair to expect every project she releases to be as successful as her 2020 album, *Manic*.
To be honest, our album, *The Great Impersonator*, sold 100,000 copies in its first week. That’s a really strong start, particularly for someone who hasn’t had a hit song recently. This tour is the most successful of my career so far, but they’re expecting sales figures similar to my *Manic* album… and I can’t consistently reach those numbers.
The 30-year-old, who shares 4-year-old son Ender Ridley Aydin with her ex, Alev Aydin, explained that her past successes have been both helpful and challenging. She feels her new music is judged more critically because of how well she’s done before, like when her songs appeared on the Billboard charts alongside those of artists like Ariana Grande.
She explained that the most difficult thing about being a former pop star is constantly being measured against current artists and their success, especially since she doesn’t see herself as competing with them anymore.
TopMob News has reached out to Columbia Records for comment but has not heard back.

Several songs on the concept album *The Great Impersonator* seemed to be inspired by the singer’s health problems, such as their diagnoses of lupus and a bone marrow disorder. The album itself explored a variety of musical genres.
In her 1983 song, “Letter to God,” she pleaded, “Please God, I don’t want to be sick, and I don’t want to suffer, so just let it be over quickly.”
Fortunately, Halsey shared that she has been getting better at managing her conditions.
Let me tell you, the past couple of years have been a real journey. I definitely hit a rough patch, but thankfully, with the incredible support of my doctors, I’ve been able to get things back on track. Honestly, I’m feeling so much better now, and it’s made me realize just how thankful I am to have music in my life – it’s been a true lifeline!

Nikki Bella, known from *Total Bellas*, shared that a breast implant moved after being hit in the chest by Piper Niven during a wrestling match in July 2025.
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitment – essentially, after her ‘boots were hung up’ – she’d return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best. She wanted to make sure things were ready for future activity and didn’t appear neglected.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in *12 Years a Slave*, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids-non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus-in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with the condition for over ten years.
She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from *Daisy Jones & The Six* revealed she’d been hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) asking why she hadn’t been tweeting lately. Suki jokingly replied that she’d been hiding a serious injury – a hernia caused by wearing extremely tight pants six months ago – and was afraid to mention it.

The former star of *Beverly Hills, 90210* shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery after experiencing a near-ruptured appendix.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to it.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle, a midfielder from Racing Louisville collapsed after only a few minutes of play.
According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate, before suddenly collapsing as trainers were called to assess her condition.
Savannah was given immediate medical attention on the field and then taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! I just found out that Adam Devine *still* deals with pain from when he was hit by a cement truck when he was eleven years old! Seriously, a cement truck! It’s just… incredible and awful that something like that could still bother him after all these years. I feel so bad for him, but also, wow, he’s so strong to keep going! I’m obsessed with him, and knowing he’s been through something so traumatic just makes me admire him even more.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the *In Depth With Graham Bensinger* podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms throughout my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation-within the last year, actually.”
He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t quite working as it should.

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He described being in so much pain that he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and the pain worsened during a road trip with a friend.
He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes, saying it was “crazy” even weeks after the initial issue. He explained that just a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a basic squat or stand on one leg without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter, from *The Real Housewives of Orange County*, revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is recovering well.

In March 2025, the actor from 30 Rock experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
The comedian later posted on social media to explain that he hadn’t been feeling well due to food poisoning, but was now recovering.

In February 2025, the former *Even Stevens* star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a clay pigeon shooting trip when the incident occurred.
According to her Instagram post, she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a gun unsafely. She said @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her and took her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet came dangerously close to her right eye – less than an inch away.
The former *Kim Possible* star shared that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they’re keeping a close watch on the situation. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving, sharing how much she cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends. Reflecting on a near-death experience, she urged everyone to embrace their loved ones, emphasizing how quickly life can change. She said, “Hug the people around you whenever you can.”

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, surprisingly, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and receiving critical comments online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Amy to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She wouldn’t have known about the condition without the online scrutiny. Fortunately, Amy was relieved to learn her case of Cushing syndrome was temporary and she is healthy. She shared this good news in a February 2024 newsletter, expressing immense relief.

During a game in December 2024, an AHL player was accidentally cut in the face by another player’s skate and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms. Hailey explained in a YouTube video that Justin noticed something was wrong and asked if she was okay, but she couldn’t respond. When she tried to speak, she realized she couldn’t, and the right side of her face began to droop.
Although the symptoms eventually subsided, Hailey went to the hospital and tests revealed she had suffered a small blood clot in her brain, which doctors identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).
Further investigation at UCLA discovered Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled to her brain through this hole, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the condition affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey later told viewers of *Good Morning America* that Justin was recovering well, and while the situation had been frightening and unexpected, he was going to be okay. She expressed her gratitude that he was on the mend.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, *What Had Happened Was…*, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next twenty days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became worried and took him to the hospital. There, they discovered he’d suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the support he received, saying, “I appreciate every prayer, because I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC competition show.
She shared on the show *Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser* that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then experienced light, which led her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where your body essentially starts to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in *Game of Thrones*, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for *The New Yorker*. While filming the show, she experienced a severe headache at the gym, followed by intense pain and vomiting. She quickly realized something was seriously wrong, suspecting brain damage.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain – due to a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, describing the pain as excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, struggling to speak coherently.
Though the aphasia eventually passed and she was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure failed, leading to a massive bleed, and doctors warned her chances of survival were slim without another operation. This time, the surgery involved accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia reports she has now made a full recovery and is at 100%.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently shared her gratitude for her family’s support after she suffered a stroke in January 2024. She told TopMob News that she immediately texted her family with a picture, and they all rushed to be with her. While she could have gone home after the stroke, other health issues, including lupus and kidney problems, required a longer hospital stay. Cori is now recovering well, saying she’s “doing great” and has been working to regain some motor skills. She is thankful for her family’s quick response and support during a difficult time.

Oh my god, I was listening to Shailene Woodley on the *SHE MD Podcast* and my heart just broke for her! She talked about how awful her early twenties were, health-wise. She said she actually started *losing her hearing* and couldn’t even walk for five minutes without needing to sleep for *hours*. Everything she ate caused her pain! It was just a total mess of different diagnoses and doctors telling her different things.
So, being the amazing, holistic person she is, she really took charge and started searching for answers herself. She’s studied herbalism, so she wanted to combine working with traditional doctors *and* independent healers. It was a ten-year journey, can you believe it?!
And it wasn’t just physical. She said being in so much pain made her terrified of food, which then spiraled into body dysmorphia and a real struggle with her identity and feeling safe in her own body. It sounds so intense! But the best part? She said it *eventually* resolved itself, and she’s now incredibly healthy and happy! I’m just so relieved and proud of her for fighting through it all and sharing her story. It’s so inspiring!
