Borderlands 4 – How To Find Dave The Burrito Secret Location

The Borderlands games are known for their unusual side quests, and the mission to find Guac and Dave the Burrito is definitely one of the strangest. Instead of battling enemies or collecting gear, you’re essentially searching for lost burritos, as if it’s a late-night snack run!

To get the “Guac is Extra” achievement in Borderlands 4, you need to find and shoot 15 hidden burritos throughout Dominion City – 5 in each district. These burritos aren’t shown on the map and can be hard to find, but don’t worry, many players have had the same trouble! This guide will show you exactly where to find all 15 burritos and help you unlock the achievement quickly.

What to Know Before you Start

Requirements:

  • Unlock Dominion City in Main Mission 17: The Falling Wall
  • Unlock the Fades District after Main Mission 18: Means of Ascent
  • Unlock Upper Dominion after Main Mission 20: The Timekeeper’s Order

A couple tips to keep in mind:

  • There is no built-in tracker for these, so you’ll have to remember which burritos you have already found.
  • If you go to an area and a burrito isn’t where it should be, you’ve already destroyed that burrito and they do not respawn.
  • These burritos aren’t missable. Meaning, you can go back at any time and get them. So no worries if you want to focus on the story, and go back at a later time.
  • You have to shoot each burrito to destroy it. If you no longer see the burrito, you have successfully eliminated it.

How to Unlock the “Guac is Extra” Achievement

Carcadia District

Burrito #1

This burrito is hidden behind a stall. You can find the stall near a Propaganda Speaker and an ECHO Log collectible. Head upstairs and look for two characters arguing in front of the stall with the bright green light. The burrito is located to the left of the stall, hidden behind it. Remember to destroy it before you continue.

Burrito #2

You can find the burrito near some yellow, acidic water. Look for a small alcove with boxes above it, and a metal pipe sticking out of the ground to know you’re in the right spot. Climb onto the pipe, then jump up to the boxes. The burrito is located on the edge of one of them.

Burrito #3

This hidden item is tricky to find. The Kratch nest, located beneath the city where the yellow, acidic water flows, holds it. The easiest way to get there is to go to the bottom of the area and jump onto the metal platform directly in front of the nest. Look for a burrito sticking out of one of the green, bumpy holes on the nest – it’s visible when you’re standing on the platform and facing the hive.

Who doesn’t want their burrito with a little extra Kratch slime?

Burrito #4

This burrito is conveniently located on the roof of the Mosmellow Retreat – it’s easy to find on your map. To reach it, jump onto the right side of the roof. Look for a rectangular metal piece attached to the wall above you, at about eye level. The burrito is resting on top of it.

Burrito #5

You’ll find this burrito at the northern boundary of the Carcadia District, near an ECHO log marked on your map. It’s on the ground behind a bench – not the cleanest spot! To get to it, climb a wall, jump to another, and then use your grapple to reach the top.

Turn right and walk past the lockers, continuing to the right until the door opens automatically. You’ll enter a room with red lights along the floor. At the far end, you’ll find a toilet, a logbook, and three burritos. Before you get there, look for a bench on the right where one burrito is located on the floor – presumably kept there for safekeeping.

Terminus District

Burrito #6

One easy collectible to get is right after you fast travel to the Food Court safehouse. When you appear, turn to your right. You’ll see a pile of rubble you can jump on to reach a ledge with some yellow and orange paint spilled on it.

Okay, so once I got up on the ledge, I walked to the right and spotted this little kitchen – you can’t miss it, there’s a big, bright neon sign above it! I went inside and turned right, and guess what? There was a burrito just sitting on the counter!

Burrito #7

Inside the building, look for a display with bright red shapes. Head to the left of it, in the direction of the blue light. Above that area, you’ll find two tapestries decorated with blue squares.

As you enter, you’ll find a bed on the floor to your right. Behind it, tucked inside some metal walls, is a toilet, and surprisingly, a burrito is sitting on top!

Burrito #8

In the heart of the Terminus District, you’ll find a laundromat with a bright neon sign that says “24h Get the Funk Out.” Head inside and look for the three washing machines at the front. A burrito is surprisingly sitting on the corner of the bottom of the leftmost one-at least it appears to be clean.

Burrito #9

Head south and fast travel to the Frantic Scrawl. Once there, turn right and go down the tunnel. Climb the steps, then turn left. You’ll see a small building that looks like a hotdog stand on your right.

Okay, so when you walk in, there’s a little kitchen tucked away in the back left corner. You can see it right away – even before you get close – there’s a shelf on the back wall with a box, a few cans, and, get this, a burrito just sitting there! It’s kind of funny, honestly.

Burrito #10

South of the Frantic Scrawl fast travel point, you’ll find a market called Mr. Cucur Bils. Look for the stall with pumpkins – it’s the one furthest to the right when facing the sign, and it has just one pumpkin on display. Hidden on the back right corner of this stall is a burrito. You’ll need to go around to the back of the stall to find and break it.

Fades District

(You’re getting closer to greatness)

Burrito #11

To find this burrito, quickly travel to Zadra’s Lab in the northwestern part of the district. Once there, head into the open area and check behind the staircase directly in front of you – you’ll find a stack of boxes where the burrito will appear. If you’re still having trouble locating it, look for the Vault Hunter’s Guide to Kairos collectible on your map; it’s positioned right above where the burrito is located.

Burrito #12

You’ll find a rather strange location – typical for Borderlands, really – a bit east of where you are, leading into a swamp. There, you’ll see the entrance to a ripper camp, marked by a hanging corpse. And surprisingly, a burrito is clutched in the corpse’s tied-up hand.

Clutching the burrito even in death? Mad respect.

Burrito #13

Based on the map, you’ll find this location in the northern, central part of the district, just above the swamp. There’s a walkable area with wooden planks surrounding the buildings. To help you pinpoint it, look for an ECHO Log close to the burrito stand and mark it on your map.

Head to the ECHO Log and face east. You’ll see a small building covered in vines and plants. Next to it are some wooden crates, a red umbrella, and a chair. A wooden pallet is leaning against the side of the building. The burrito is hidden between the pallet and the building itself.

Burrito #14

Okay, so heading south, you’ll find this burrito right next to an ECHO Log. Definitely make a note of that on your map and head towards it! Just to the left of the Log, there’s a slightly hidden raised flower bed with a tree in it. It’s tricky to spot, but if you pay attention to where the light hits the stones, the burrito is hidden under the plants, right next to where the light is shining.

Burrito #15

Head far east, near the Propaganda Speaker. Go to the roof of the building with the swimming pool. You’ll see a mural of people chatting and figures floating in the water. There’s a wooden box with a boombox on top. The final burrito is hidden behind the boombox.

Dave the Burrito

You’ll only be able to enter Dave the Burrito’s location after destroying all 15 burritos. This area becomes available during Main Mission 20: The Timekeeper’s Order. To get there quickly, fast travel to the yellow Upper Dominion marker, located in the center of the city.

To find Dave the Burrito in Upper Dominion, follow the Vault Symbol. You’ll come to a waterfall – glide through it, then turn right. After searching around fifteen different spots, you’ll finally find Dave. It’s surprisingly simple – you don’t have to fight anything or earn special loot. Just getting close to the burrito unlocks the achievement.

Congratulations! You’ve finished all 15 burritos and discovered the Holy Grail. This silly quest is a fun break from all the action and fighting you’ve been doing. Now you’re one step closer to finding all the hidden secrets in Borderlands 4.
