D4vd is taking a step back from the spotlight.
As a lot of you know, it’s been a really difficult time. Over a week ago, the body of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found in a car registered to me – my name is David Anthony Burke, but you might know me as the artist behind *Withered*. It’s with a heavy heart that I’ve had to cancel some of the remaining dates on my U.S. tour. I need to take some time to process everything that’s happening right now.
D4vd initially canceled his concert on September 17th, right after the victim was identified. Since then, his remaining U.S. shows in Los Angeles and at the city’s Grammy Museum have also been removed from venue websites. However, a concert he’s scheduled to play in San Francisco on September 19th is still currently listed.
D4vd’s international tour dates are still confirmed, starting October 1st in Oslo, Norway, and continuing through December 10th with a final show in Australia.
TopMob News reached out to D4vd’s rep for comment but has not yet heard back.
After authorities confirmed the remains belonged to Rivas Hernandez-a 13-year-old girl who was first reported missing on April 5, 2024-her family described her as a cherished daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.
A statement on a GoFundMe page created September 17th confirmed that the body found last week was Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Her family is deeply saddened by her death and is asking for donations to help cover funeral expenses.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner hasn’t yet determined how Rivas Hernandez died. This is because his body was badly decomposed when found, suggesting he had been in the Tesla for a significant period before being discovered.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m sharing some heartbreaking news. Police in Los Angeles discovered a teenager’s body on September 8th. It all started when a Tesla was reported abandoned in the Hollywood Hills. After being towed, workers noticed a concerning smell, which led to the discovery. It’s a truly tragic situation, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.
TopMob News tried to get a statement from D4vd’s team but didn’t receive one. However, a representative for the artist, who is known for the song “Romantic Homicide,” told NBC News that D4vd is aware of the situation and is working with the police.

D4vd, whose full name is David Anthony Burke, was born in Queens, New York, and later moved to Houston, Texas, at the age of 13.

Okay, so I’ve been following D4vd since the beginning, and it’s amazing to see how far he’s come! It all started with him streaming, mostly Fortnite, trying to get noticed on YouTube like everyone else. But he kept getting flagged for using music in his videos – it was a real pain! That’s when his mom stepped in to help him out back in 2021. Seriously, she’s a total hero! It’s crazy to think that’s where it all began.
He explained to Benny Blanco in an interview with *Hero* magazine that he felt lost and frustrated, telling his mom he wasn’t earning any money. She simply told him to make his own music and left him to it, which made him realize he actually could.
D4vd, who hadn’t had any formal musical training beyond casual singing, began creating music using an app on his phone. His songs quickly gained popularity online, and after several of his tracks went viral on TikTok, his music career started to flourish.
He finally released his first album, *Withered*, in April 2025, and quickly followed it up with his first tour around the world.

On September 8th, police were sent to a Hollywood tow yard after reports of a bad smell coming from a car, according to NBC News sources.
Los Angeles police discovered human remains inside a Tesla’s front trunk. The car was registered to David Anthony Burke, known as the artist D4vd, and was linked to an address in Hempstead, Texas.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! I was driving around, you know, *hoping* to catch a glimpse, and I found out his car was towed! Apparently, they found it just… sitting there in the Hollywood Hills, abandoned! Can you even imagine? It’s at the impound lot now, which is just… ugh, frustrating, because I wanted to see it! But still, it’s *his* car! I need to go check it out, even if it’s just sitting there. It’s a sign, I swear!

On September 16th, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the remains found in a Tesla belonged to Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who had been missing since April 5, 2024. She was 13 years old when she disappeared.
Records from the Medical Examiner’s Office, reviewed by TopMob News on September 17th, show the official cause of death is still pending. While her body was found on September 8th, investigators believe it had been in the car for a significant amount of time beforehand and was badly decomposed.

After learning about the death of Rivas Hernandez, a representative for D4vd told NBC News that the singer has been notified and is working with authorities while continuing his tour.
D4vd’s September 17th concert in Seattle was canceled after his remains were identified. His next scheduled performance is September 19th in San Francisco.
