As a racing game fan, I’m seriously excited about 2025! We’re getting so many new titles – like *Mario Kart World* with the new Switch 2, and *Kirby Air Riders* looks amazing. But I’m *especially* hyped for *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds*, which is coming out on September 25th and already has a great roster of characters. We’ve known about most of the Season Pass DLC characters for a while, but it sounds like the last one is finally being revealed – it’s getting me so excited!
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds includes characters from across the Sonic world, but it’s also exciting because it features racers from other games. We already knew characters from Minecraft and SpongeBob SquarePants would be included. Now, someone seems to have received an early copy of the game, potentially revealing all the downloadable content (DLC) characters.
New Leak Suggests Beloved Capcom Character Is Headed to Sonic Racing
A Reddit user, @Wrong-Minute-1319, posted a picture of what appears to be a physical copy of the upcoming game, *Sonic Racing*. The image shows a flyer advertising the game’s Season Pass, which will include downloadable characters planned for the first season. Several of these characters have already been announced. If the image is real, it suggests that Mega Man will be the sixth playable character added to *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds*.
Guys… I think Mega Man may have an unexpected return…

It appears someone has received a physical copy of *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* before its official release date. This occasionally happens with physical games due to shipping errors. An included flyer details the game’s downloadable content (DLC), and many of these additions have already been confirmed by SEGA. Here’s what the list includes:
- Minecraft
- Spongebob Squarepants
- Pac-Man
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Avatar: Legends
- Mega Man
Many of the revealed characters weren’t a shock, as SEGA had previously announced some of them. We already knew about Minecraft coming in October and SpongeBob in November. Avatar: Legends and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were also shown in earlier trailers, though we don’t have exact release dates for them. This means Mega Man is the only truly unexpected addition, and that’s great news if the reports are accurate.
Mega Man is a famous video game character who originally appeared in Capcom’s first *Mega Man* game in 1987. He’s easily recognizable, even if you don’t play video games – and this isn’t the first time he’s teamed up with other franchises. He’s been a playable character in games like *Super Smash Bros. Ultimate* and *Marvel vs. Capcom* before.

While Mega Man has been in a racing game before – *Mega Man: Battle & Chase* – it wasn’t widely released in the United States until much later. This means that if he appears in *Sonic Racing*, it will likely be the first time many fans get to race as the Blue Bomber.
While the image appears to be real, SEGA hasn’t officially confirmed it yet. Therefore, consider this information unverified until SEGA announces a Mega Man DLC for *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds*. If you pre-ordered a physical copy of the game, you may receive confirmation along with its release on September 25th.
